Here's a work in progress. This took longer than I thought because I still don't know how to mix paint. So I went out and got purple and green...and then had a kidney stone! Whee!

I got the idea when I was going through the 'unfinished' toys bin at Quake, this place that sells used toys (collectibles, you get the idea) and saw G2 Ramjet. I realized I had some extra Starscream wings that I was going to use to make my own G1 Sunstorm. I thought it was funny that he was purple and had his name written on him, so I ordered some cheap broken parts (tailfins) from Transformerland to paint over. Took off the stickers from the wings and the "ramjet" stickers...

I have a little more to do in the way of putting something crazy on the wings. The weapons are Generations Thunderwing and I might change that.

Sorry for the WIP, enjoy otherwise.

Looks great! Reminds me of Stonecrusher's "Jokescream" character and G2 Ramjet.

interesting start. the paint for the face really needs to be cleaned up though.

good work on making it look like the joker rather than a G1 Slipstream. Ay ideas for a batman for him to fight?

I feel bad about the shakiness/fuzziness of the edges green/purple stripes, as I USED TAPE to make them straight and clean! But, it'll work with the motif and look better when I'm finished putting some "hahahahaha" on the wings.

    A flower would be awesome.

The next part is playing around with the weapons. I have launchers from a KO classics "thundercracker" (just this all-blue seeker) but they look kinda weird on the G1 counterpart, but I'd rather use those than the Generations Thunderwing weapons...though those DO fit. I have to play around with the projectiles to make it more joker like, and that's something I can't describe, you'll just have to see.

    Thanks gang,
    -Paul

Awesome concept, I love crossover ideas like this. Thanks for sharing :)

The reason the tape didn't work is because the paint was applied too heavily. You need to water/thin it down, and use several thin layers when working with masking tape (to prevent it seeping through) - in fact this works best even when you're not masking.

Don't be afraid to use some alcohol as an 'undo' button - rubbing alcohol won't melt your figures and I do it all the time when something doesn't look how I want it. Super-fine sandpaper can also work in that respect.

Last but not least, a white spray-can undercoat helps bright colours become a lot more vivid, and actually reduces the overall paint thickness because you don't need so many topcoats.

I painted "hahahahaha" on the wings. Then I painted the feet green to match the rest of the green on him. Weapons will be the last thing I work on.

Okay, here's some pics with the "hahaha" on the wings...and with a fist one one of the projectile weapons.
