Seems like more of the same so far.
I'm about 3 seconds from changing the channel...oh wait look who's on..changing channel.
Leno is interviewing Kanye West right now...
Who think he's apologetic?
I hope this show crashes and burns. I hate these kinds of shows, but hey, everyone has their own taste, right? However, when you start cutting episodes (Chuck) or killing them altogether (Life) in part to ensure you have enough time to show this crap every week night, I start rooting against you.
I'm pretty sure he said it would basically be the same stuff as what he did on the Tonight Show. I wasn't expecting anything different at least.
I don't care for Kanye, the only song of his I've ever liked was Stronger. But the rest of the show was great, good to have Jay Leno back.
You couldn't pay me to watch this. Leno should've just retired instead of lingering around and trying to steal Conan's thunder.
yeah i heard this was gonna be almost the same as the Tonight Show but with a different name.
didnt really care about him during his Tonight Show days, so i guess ill pass on this too.
Only watched the headlines before the local news came on.
I caught switched it to the part where these guys were singing to a girl at a car wash. I watched about 2 mins worth, then proceeded to change the channel.
I hope it flops.
I've never liked Leno's stand up (I hate how he laughs at his own jokes and has to follow up on every single punch line). Lo and behold, I couldn't make it past his it's-still-The-Tonight-Show monologue.
I was only curious about this show because of how much Howard Stern hates him.
Why so negative, people?
Because Leno deserves nothing less than our collective scorn and contempt.
I remember staying up to watch "Johnny" as much as possible when I was little, even when I was 5 and little of it made any sense. I loved him for some reason. I remember when Johnny would be away for a few episodes and Jay would be the fill-in, and even though I was almost too young to even care I remember loathing Jay.
I wish Jay success, and I'm glad that he's still around for those who like him, but I'm also happy that he's on so early that I will never, ever, even accidentally come across his show.
What I do want to see is Conan's Little Jay Leno. What ever happened to that guy?
This show is going to change the way networks choose shows from now on, guaranteed. I can't wait for the first week Leno beats one of those tired CSI/NCIS shows to death in the ratings.
Look, the guy isn't that funny and last night wasn't the best opening show, but he always got better ratings than Letterman, and Conan has totally dropped the ball. I think people are pretty sick of the murderpolice dramas on all the other channels, and NBC certainly wasn't doing too well at the 10 o'clock spot the last few years either. It beats watching Dateline on slow nights, right?
I hope this experiment fails because I want scripted shows to survive.
NBC is the most poorly run network ever right now.
I saw a commercial for this where he's doing his "silly ad typo" routine again and the ad said "meat load" instead of "meat loaf" and he and his entire staff are completely cracking up over it. That does not make me want to watch this show.
If this replaces reality shows, then I hope it wins. Still, we need scripted shows.
As for Jay? I was watching Monday Night Football so I didn't care. NBC should show reruns of Johnny Carson.
i can't stand o'brian. i hated seing leno go off the air and passing the preverbial batton to him. and in all honesty, o'brian isn't doing that great ratings wise. letterman is beating the snot out of him! leno is the only late night show i ever stayed up to watch and i am happy that he is back.
Yo Jay I know you got a new show and I'm let you finish but letterman has the best late night tv show ever
