    Very few households are HDTV only so why arn't these people just playing their Wii's on an SDTV? Most Wii games would look better on an SDTV tube than on an HDTV LCD or Plasma. Tubes are more durable anyways.

    Considering the GameCube looks better on a high definition TV than it does on a standard, you're not making a lot of sense. Like the Cube, the Wii can output higher resolutions than standard TV if you've got the digital-out cable.

    ^Maxing out at 480p which is kinda shoulder shruggable when you factor in the streching. If you have a quality 25inch SD tube the picture should look better on that than on a quality 50 inch tube at 480p. 480x resolution really isnt meant for screens that large

    It's only as shruggable as the difference in quality between a standard TV and a VGA monitor. Standard TVs only display interlaced images, which also makes a huge difference. I've played Gamecube games on a large HTDV via the digital-out. It makes a tremendous difference, and it looks great. Not as nice as an Xbox 360 is going to look, but still far better than a standard TV can do.
