Anyone ever watch The IT Crowd? It's a British comedy series by Graham Linehan about Moss, Roy, and Jen, a three member IT support team. My sister introduced it to me last week. There has only been 2 seasons and each season has 6 episodes (season 3 isn't confirmed so far). I've already seen all 12 online and might pick up season 1 on DVD (not sure if season 2 is available here yet). Moss, played by Richard Ayoade, is the best character from the show (the one with the tie in the image below). NBC is also remaking it but from what I read online, they are having problems getting it under way.
I watched both Seasons. Season 2 blew the first out of the water. Especially the first episode of 2. Well worth watching. Moss and Roy both shine more than anything in the second series. If you have 30 minutes to kill, watch it. You may get a good laugh, but no promises. Does that mean you'll be watching?
I love the IT Crowd! Season 2 was shown here in the UK quite recently, and was released a couple of weeks ago in a box set containing both series. Plans for region-free version aren't going ahead though. As with the likes of Steptoe & Son, The Office, and Coupling, there are plans for a US remake - NBC filmed a pilot before an audience in February, but recent reports suggest they're not going ahead with it. It had the same Moss as the original version! There's also a German version in the pipeline... Season 3 remains unconfirmed, but I'm hopeful. The theatre trip? Possibly my fave episode!
Dear NBC Please stop taking our shows and trying to remake them for a US audience. Didn't you learn anything form the Red Dwarf fiasco? Love, British Comedy
They tried to remake red dwarf? All I ever remember was one of the local PBS stations constantly showing it.
I've very much enjoyed it, lets hope series 3 isn't too long coming. Don't forget they tried to do a US version of Coupling too, a bit too raunchy for them apparently.
I watched the first season of the IT Crowd and found it to be so-so. Pretty good, but not outstanding. Haven't watched the second one yet. Bonus points for Richard Ayoade.
Unfortunatly yes they did. There was only a pilot made which I don't think ever aired (yet is avilavle through means at conventions) The only original cast member was Robert Llewellyn (Kryten) Though Chris Barrie (Rimmer) was in talks about going over. However they threw a whole load of writers at it and went through extensive re-write (including one done by series creater Rob Grant and Doug Naylor) it failed to get of the ground and resulted in the studio give Grant and Naylor the option to fix it but with a very limited budget and hence Red Dwarf USA never took off. Which is good actually cause then we got series 6. As had most people, though I recently got the remaining series on DVD that I needed (yay for Virgin sales) and there was information on it about the US version including some clips Actually I never really liked the original Office. But I guess there has to one fluke.
i wish they would finish off red dwarf.....the ending we were forced with was crap. and before anyone mentions the so-called movie - ITS BEEN CANCELLED FOR 8 YEARS NOW! FACE IT ITS NOT HAPPENING!
With gingers, all their freckles remind me of chicken pox. I'm worried I'll catch something contagious from them. And twins are freaky. There's only supposed to be ONE PERSON there. Who gave them the right to be two people? FREAKY.
