well, I'm in yet another quandry, I'm debating on either eventually getting the Fans Project Insecticons or wait and see if Hasbro would make them for the Generations/ Fall of Cybertron line

I don't see that happening bro. The Insecticons aren't really popular characters at all. Their popularity is probably at it's highest and the highest it's ever been because of FP's figures. Get them dude, they are totally worth it, and I was on the fence with these. Even if Hasbro made them, they wouldn't be nearly as cool with FP's ninja motif going on.

FP's, if hasbro makes them, you can always sell the FP ones, and if they're sold out, you'll make a bit on them

I agree with all of this, pick them up, just be careful your head doesn't explode from the awesome when you get them.

I was on the fence about these too, they look really really sick, but I know that mastermind is also coming out with some. I don't think they will be as weaponized, but they are based off the hearts of steel line, and combine into a sort of weapon train. It looks pretty cool. But each insect for the mastermind ones are about deluxe size, so I little big haha

I have FP's Insecticons on the way. If Hasbro made Classics or FOC figs that did them justice, I'd get those too. Depending on the figs, I'd hafta decide which were the main characters, which would be clones...

I use the TRU Reissue Insecticons in my display.

I think they match better and I'm not digging the idea of Deluxe-sized Insecticons.

The ninja thing is what puts me off them actually. And that the faces look nothing like the originals, and thats the only bit I demand remain the same through various updates.

This. All of FP's stuff goes up in price after it sells out, so at worst you spend the ~$150 now and resell them for more than that later and buy official versions. But of course there's no way to be sure there will ever be official versions.

    FP all the way!

Hasbro's will be something that looks like them in Bot mode but transforms into a Car or Tank of something else in Alt mode.

If you don't warm to the Insectininja idea (I'm meh on it) you can always remove them to make them more Geewon-y.

Though I will never disarm Thundershred's wolvie claws. Never.

I'd be more worried about the toys shattering as they're poorly designed junk.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. These three are definitely pretty awesome and I do not regret getting these guys. This is big for me as I generally hate the shit out of the Insecticons, but dig these versions.

I like them quite a bit. The stupid Ninja thing makes no sense and Kickback & Shrapnel heads don't really resemble the G1 models, but that was probably to avoid infringement. They're decent stand ins and I don't see Has/Tak making them anytime soon. If they did they'd probably turn out like United Rumble/ Frenzy. Ugh.

If you are referring to FP insecticons, they are DEFINITELY not junk.

However, I must say I am a bit disappointed with them. Don't get me wrong, they are really awesome figures and I don't regret the purchase, but in my opinion, the value is just not there for me. The ninja thing has nothing to do with it. In my mind I compare them to the similarly priced Munitioner and Explorer and those 2 figures do SOOOO much more than the FP insecticons. I probably won't be buying any more FP figures that simply just transform instead of being part of a combiner. That adds value to them for me :2c:
