Yep, different continent, etc etc etc. A wee bit too far to travel. Would love to make it one day though.

 

I just can't get time off; I teach, so end of September is a bad time as I'm in the middle of a half dozen classes.

Additionally, after some expenses accrued due to living and buying things, I'm a bit short of funds anyway.

I also went to OTFCC in Chicago, and honestly didn't have so much fun that I have/had a need to go to another that wasn't local. Since it's quite the distance, and coupled with the other reasons spells why I didn't even consider going.

And no, I don't think I suck.

 

I'm 15, In fricking school, in the fricking U.K, and it would take me years to scrape together enough cash to even go in, let alone pay for the plane ticket there.

 

Gotta work this weekend and don't have the extra cash to go. Maybe next year after I graduate from college and start working something resembling full time, maybe I can go depending how close it is to MA.

 

Money restraints, that and not wanting to go alone.

 

My ass hasn't recovered from last year.

 

The TF sites do such a good job of covering events like this that missing them isn't a big deal. If you want the toys, then more power to you.

 

I only got a permanent job contract Thursday this week. I'm against spending lots of money unless I know I've got an income to support it, and now I do. 2007, lock up the ladies!

 

Living in South America doesn't help...

I don't like to travel out of New England, much less away from the Eastern Seaboard. I'd go if it was held closer to home.

 

It's maybe 5 hours away, I was planning on going, but I was unemployed for 2 months, so that kind of shot my plans on it.

 

That post alone makes me wary about Botcon...  

Seriously, I really want to go, and hopefully one day I'll get to... but many reasons preclude it.

i) I have work.
ii) I am poor.
iii) Anna says no.

Pick one.

 

would be fun to go..but I aint paying a flight ticket to the US just for a Con...

 

I'm reading the book Executive Orders now, in which terrosts go to various conventions and trade shows accross the conty to infect goers with the airborne ebola virus.

That's a good enought reason for me to not go. Oh, and work/distance/money.

Money, time restraints... and the same thing that others have echoed about not really getting much out of it that I couldn't get while sitting on my butt at home.

The news I can get from here. The non-attendee package gets me the initial set of figures without having to pay for hotel, air fare to get there and food stuff while there. The attendee only stuff I can get through ebay for cheaper than it would cost me to pay for the hotel alone... not to mention the air fare and food.

The only two things that really interest me would be to meet some of the people from this board and to see the VAs. But the VAs is kind of secondary as I've meet quit a few through Metrocon here in Florida. And the thing about meeting people from the board, well, is very much what others have stated. I'd probably introduce myself and than after friendly replies I'd be attempting to fit in with people that I really don't know and don't really know me.

Eh, I'll probably drag Dark Magnus with me when I do finally decide to go...

 

If you live around people, especially in the city, you're dead anyway - it would spread too quick. On the other hand, if you live in the sticks it'll probably kill all the people who have it before it can spread out to you.

So if you live in the city go to your con! You'll just die a couple of days faster is all!

True enough. I'm wondering if I couldn't have nabbed him a little cheaper if I had waited till this month instead of getting him two months ago when he first showed up... ah well, he's still worth it. Most probably my favorite Megatron toy in my entire collection.  

 

Can't afford it... live in NJ, and that's a little too far for me.
