Okay, so from what I've gathered, the IDW collections are sets of EVERY series by IDW and from what I can see, it's in chronological order (maybe) being that it starts with Megatron Origin. I also see that Collection 5 coming out is pretty much just another collection of All Hail Megatron sans the interconnected spotlights and sans all the extras (galleries and what not). Am I right on this or no? I'm definitely gonna start buying these either way because it is so much Tranformers comics for a steal of a price and a great presentation in a hardback set. But am I right about the order being in the right chronological order? Input please. Thanks guys.
It's not quite chronological order, and they threw the silly New Avengers crossover in which doesn't fit (just because they could, having made a new deal with Marvel) but on the whole yes, it's in a "suggested reading order". V5 takes us through to the end of AHM. V6 (when announced) will include Spotlight: Prowl (not yet collected anywhere), Last Stand of the Wreckers, the Bumblebee mini-series and the first six issues of the ongoing.
Yes, I have Vols 1-4. My only gripe is the lack of a cover gallery. But other than that, these are the way to go for me.
Very cool guys, thanks, definitely gonna buy these, but might skip 5 because I'll already have the AHM set. And Predakwon, LOVE your avatar and sig. SNK FTW.
I have all of them too, they made some minor changes such as referring to "The Darkness" as "The Heart of Darkness" in the Revelation series. Haven't read any of the others to spot any other changes.
No insider info, but it's the next chronological stuff and amounts to 16 worth of issues which is around the length of all to-date IDW Collections.
"Ironhide" takes place at some point post-Ongoing #1 clearly , but not necessarily before #6. In any case, I don't think they'd throw twenty issues into one collection!
I don't have them here with me, but does anyone know if the original comic covers are included in these? If so, are the at the beginning of each book or at the end?
they only have a few, def. not all the variants and what not ~ i don't even think they have 1 cover for every issue in the book ~ i think they mostly add them in if they need to for pagination so that the double-page spreads in a given issue wind up on the right facing pages. (and frankly i think it's kind of bunk that in these big $50 hardcovers they can't include a full cover gallery at the back)
