Well, I guess you could compare my situation to cancer. Once you lose hope, it's over. I lost hope after I heard it was in Miami. We called first thing today, and wouldn't you know it. It's out of the country. Not much I can do now but learn a lesson from this.
I am sorry my man that is one hell of expensive lesson. Not as expensive and certainly more life-applicable than that one CNC machining course I took though.
Damn guy, tough luck! I'm in a classic car club and its about weekly that we see an auction from over seas where someone has taken pictures of a memebers high dollar classic car that were on an online photobook and trying to sell it off as their own. Usually the auction is accompanied with some story that it belonged to an American soldier stationed overseas or something. Needless to say, theres a lot of rip off artists out there. Chalk it up to lesson learned.
At least now that if we ever have to deal with a Nigerian eBay-er, just say NO! and delete the message.
Damn that sucks. I don't know what else to say other than I hope it blows up in that persons face, yes it's mean but there is no sense in ripping someone off like this. The internet is a great place that has led to many great things but I guess it's stuff like this that balances it out.
Well, I got an email from eBay TODAY saying... "We see you have been dealing with *username*. Please diregard these emails, as they are scams, etc." Thanks for telling me now. Assholes. My story in a nutshell. "That sex was so great without protection. And it was my first time!" "Oh yeah, I have AIDS."
Damn, damn, damn! Fred's team wins again! That scamming son of a bitch! Well, the silver lining is that you learned something and knowing is half the battle!
i dont know if it was already said but the first rule of buying "if its too good to be true then it usually is" that is all
I have a conned story. About a year ago I purchased a Takara Reissue Soundwave for $80 from eBay. After I payed and all that jazz the waiting game began. 3 weeks went by, and no package. Sent the seller a few emails, gives me the "Since it's from Tokyo, it's normal for it to take awhile. Another 2 weeks goes by, I email him again and he gives the same excuse but with a bigger timeframe. I get fed up and start talking with eBay about how he screwed me. Lo and Behold he deletes his account so I couldn't send him more emails. Luckily Visa refunded my money as it was considered fraud. EBay said that guy has been dealt with in the past. Never dealing with any company or seller out of Asia ever again. That's why I don't want to shop at a few of those online stores, I think Action-Hq is one of them.
Not really a ripoff, but an unsatisfied exchange... ordered 2 TRU reissue Soundwaves from the TRU website back in September. They finally came today (Jan 30th). Opened up the first one..pretty cool. Went to look at the second one, which I intended to keep MISB. The box was damaged! I should have checked first. I would have opened the damaged box. ah well.
Ouch! That sucks. You can always get another and sell one if you really want a MISB *shrugs. Is it seriously damaged? Can you return it? That happened to me today only for the better. I picked up two Classics Grimlocks today, one was already peeling from the card so I got 10% off.
I probably could return it, but what a pain! I would have to mail it back, then wait a couple more weeks. The damage is enough for a collector to notice. The average buyer wouldnt care.
