Didn't even know there was a thread for this line, lol. The main thing I'm missing is one of the two packs with an ogre-looking guy (whose name escapes me at the moment). I found the Goblin King at a Ross like 4 months ago. That was really weird.
My local TRU has some Desolation of Smaug figures. 6" Legolas and Radagast, and a 4" Mirkwood hero pack.
For the member who posted a while back about a possible Smaug POP! Vinyl figure; well, there's no precedence: Game of Thrones Pop! Television Drogon Figurine | Shows | Game of Thrones | HBO Shop I hope he wouldn't look like that though: that smile just looks so awkward... EDIT: It was Reeds who said something about wanting a Smaug vinyl figure.
I know this isn't exactly about The Hobbit toys, but I didn't want to start a new thread, and figured this would be the best spot for it. Does anybody know how these figures are available (or if they even are yet/anymore): Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring The figures look so wonderfully detailed, and I'd love to add them to my collection eventually, but I can only find one site that has them "available", and it's just Gandalf the White and Guritz on pre-order. I might just be missing something, so if anybody could help me out it would be much appreciated!
Michael Crawford reviewed the Morgul Lord and has links to places selling it. Morgul Lord LOTR sixth scale action figure - Another Pop Culture Collectible Review by Michael Crawford, Captain Toy BBTS has some. BigBadToyStore.com Search Also (not related to your question) I'll take this opportunity to post this. Looks like we may actually be getting a Smaug figure.
Thanks so much! I can't believe I didn't try looking on BigBadToyStore. Once I finish the LEGO lines, I'm thinking about getting into those figures: they look really good. I hope they make a Gondorian soldier eventually. I saw the Bridge Direct pictures a little while ago, but I'm still so psyched for that Smaug! I've only gotten Tauriel from the first wave (and Éowyn, but she's from The Return of the King line), and haven't been too upset about not being able to find any of the others, but I'm definitely going to have to track down that Smaug when he comes out! EDIT: The only way to read that review you posted is with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H5Cq4_gov8
I don't frequent Amazon, so this is one of two pages I've read the reviews on: Tengwar Script Men's Lord Prayer Ring Comfort Fit Black IP Stainless Steel Size 9 10 11 12 13: Customer Reviews: Amazon.com Are they always this hilarious? (The other was the banana slicer. )
New vinyl figures spotted: https://twitter.com/hirayamafrog/status/435857826909409281/photo/1 I really dig that Tauriel, and Smaug just looks adorable!
I've been looking around the internet for information about that Bridge Direct Smaug figure, but I can't seem to find a release date anywhere. The bow says "The Desolation of Smaug", so I'm assuming he's part of a second wave of figures for that movie, but I'm also pretty sure some figures from Bridge Direct have been cancelled or moved around or something, so does anybody have any information on this figure? I love dragons, and Smaug certainly not least of all, so I'd hate to miss out on this figure!
That box mockup was shown at ToyFair a few months back, so the actual figure probably isn't ready yet. I'd say if they are still planning on making it (and I truly hope they are) it'll be one of the few offerings for the third movie. Toys from the first movie sold relatively poorly so they really dialed it back for the second movie. If we see Smaug at SDCC I'll take that as a good sign. If he isn't shown...well lets just hope they show him! As for the Desolation of Smaug being on the box, Im guessing it's because PJ hadn't yet settled on a title for the third film so they just used Desolation.
Does anybody know if The Hobbit figures were at SDCC? I've been looking around, but I can't find anything. I am dying to see that Smaug!
The Smaug figure has finally been revealed! "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Smaug Large Scale Poseable Action Figure From the depths of Erebor and the film The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies comes this detailed, limited edition Smaug the dragon large scale action figure, complete with a surprise 1.5" figure and accessory. Featuring an impressive 22 inch wingspan, Smaug stands tall, measuring 21 inches. No details were overlooked as this center piece of any action figure collection was in development. Smaug boasts ten points of articulation and underwent over 140 painting procedures. The figure is plastic, but Smaug's tail and wingtips have a wire core, allowing for additional poses. This item has a limited edition production run of 3000 units and each box will be labeled with a gold sticker indicating the number." I can't wait to add this to my collection!
Whoa! Smaug looks nice! I'm a sucker for dragon figures so I'll pick him up! May I know which company is producing him?
The Bridge Direct, released through WB.com shop. He'll be limited to 3000, it seems, which is a bit upsetting.
