For the longest time I've always wondered why the decepticon jets were called seekers. I've come to call them that, but I'd like to know where the term came from as I don't recall heariing the term used in the cartoon or the G1 comics.

Gah, I can't read anything on wikia.com - the writing style of the pages puts me off.

That's the most I've been able to find. You can find the full article here. Hope this helps.

Edit: Chris beat me to it, with a better article I might add.

I was gonna say the old "Wishbook" listing. That's the oldest known use of the term, and they capitalized it showing some sort of title. But the wikipedia article covered it.

    ...Silverbolt was once a Seeker???

Heck, I just thought maybe Starscream and the boys picked up the Who on their radios and dug it.

Now that you mention it, the one on the bottom right is colored like Silverbolt. Did you notice that the one to his immediate left is colored like Onslaught? The one on the top left looks like a familiar paint scheme, but I can't place it. Are the others colored after other transformers as well?

I always thought of it like seek and destroy, the jets seek out autobots, than they destroy them.

I'm glad the origin of the word Seeker is not lost.

    Pun-errific!

At least it sounds better than Sweep...

Just cool to think about a fan-termed name being officially accepted into the canon universe!:)

BTW, all the Seekers (except the Coneheads, of course) were probably made from the same mold Starscream was born in, heh.
