Everyone is obviously aware of the panic and worry pervasive throughout the fandom recently as news and rumors abound. Who's to blame and why? Hasbro and its distribution ineptness? Retailers and their ordering process? Kids? Their parents for buying the wrong stuff? Or the fans themselves. What if there's a deeper, darker evil out there trying to prevent us from acquiring certain G1 screen-accurate figures? Consider:

    Thundercracker
    1) Botcon 07 Thundercracker - exclusive and crazy hard to get.
    2) Henkei Thundercracker - produced-to-order. Finally a <$100 TC. What do you mean QC issues? And chrome?
    3) Generations Thundercracker - take that Botcon & Henkei suckers. I knew if I waited four years I'd finally get one for retail. Huh? End-of-line?

It gets worse if we expand outside CHUG.
    4) Animated Thundercracker - CANCELED
    5) Japanese Animated Thundercracker - ???
    6) JP Masterpiece Thundercracker - $200!!!
    6) US Masterpiece Thundercracker - ???

    Rachet
    1) Universe Ratchet - how much?
    2) Henkei Ratchet - how MUCH??
    3) Botcon 05 Ratchet - how MUCH???
    4) G1/Reissue - wait, mine came broken, where's his head?

    Wheeljack
    1) G1 Wheeljack - mold gone
    .......*crickets*............
    2) Generations Wheeljack - end-of-line?

    Warpath
    1) Legends Warpath - $30 for a legend?
    2) Generation Warpath - sweet. Um, where do I order one?

    Arcee
    1) G1 Arcee - ...
    2) Animated Arcee - what's a scalper?
    3) TRNS-01 Valkyrie - ugh. . .
    4) Generations Arcee - FINALLY! Wait, what's a prime?

    Oh, forgot one more.

What is it about this mold that makes it so impossible to get fairly.
    1) Universe Inferno
    2) Botcon Pyro
    3) RTS Grapple

We know why we've not gotten them. The RIRFIB and RIBFIR lobbyist have split the caucas. Not enough of a trend for Frumble but I'll try.

    1) G1 Frenzy/Rumble - lemme see, I've got 20 re-issue laserbeaks, 10 ravages plus the new one, I've even got ratbat now. Where's my G1 Reissue Frumble!!!!!!!
    2) RTS Demolition Rumble - finally Soundwave gets his minions. And he's blue!!! What, canceled?
    3) United Rumble/Frenzy - Ah, he's red. Sold out! But it hasn't even been released yet!!!

I dunno who to bl[ame... all I know is that there are HASBRO loyalists out there pinning this on Wal Mart, but when I go there their shelves and pegs are empty. So am I to think that Wal Mart would rather sell nothing than sell Kup? That they would rather keep their pegs empty than filled with Windcharger?

Beachcomber, Brawn, and Cosmos are pretty available.

    Add another in there:

    Where can he be?
    2.0 Wheelie's hard to see!

Wheelie was end-of-line syndrome. It was a single occurence. I'm looking for evil trends here. :ev:

    Sorry friend!
    but Hasbro plans the end.
    So when Wheelie didn't show,
it's the same as Hasbro saying no.

Seriously -- I see your point though. I think TC is getting the shaft generally. I hope that the last two waves of Generations get general release since there will be TC's a plenty then.

We should change all currency values to number of Windchargers so everyone is on the same page when it comes to Transformer worth.

I honestly wish they'd put out all the new molds and most wanted characters first and wait until the end of the line, when the distribution sucks, to put out all the extra stuff like Skullgrin, WFC Cliffjumper, etc. Granted that stuff wouldn't sell as well but honestly, it couldn't sell any worse than the cool figures out now THAT STORES AREN'T EVEN GETTING. And I wish Prime toys would be here now instead of DOTM. They're pushing these movie lines way too early when they could be promoting a series that's out RIGHT NOW.

Ah yes, my title might be misleading. I figured we already knew the semi-official reasons and have theories on why specific figures get the axed but when there's a character pattern? They say once is luck, twice is coincidence, three times is. . .

I'm so friggin' happy I managed to clue into the possibility some of these figures would be hard to find and ended up pre-ordering on BBTS. Normally I have a strict rule that if it is a wide release big-box retail figure I won't pay the markup through online retail. I saved myself a lot of trouble by getting the deluxes and legends through BBTS.

Now I have to track down a few of the remaining PCC figures I don't have and Voyager Grappel so my "shit to hunt for" list will be empty.

Add Grimstone to the list too. Was not exactly a wide release for the best PCC of all.

As far pinning the tail on the Donkey of Blame, we need some serious no-bullshit answers from Hasbro at Botcon on the SNAFU between them and the retailers.

The "SNAFU" is because RTS is in the same line as ROTF and HFTD. Retailers were done with the 2nd movie stuff and are waiting for the 3rd. Generations got ordered more because it was a new SKU, not ROTF/HFTD/RTS.

This. In fact, I vote that we change all currency numbers to new units called "Windcharger". The starting value will be whatever the speculation value is, just like gas prices.

For example, one guy on the boards was offering a Windcharger for a Supreme Unicron. That's an equivalent of 'One Windcharger'.

vid, the answer will always be the same. Large retailers suck at anticipating needs, yet their low low prices will always force Mom and Pop out. Reference KB Toys.
