Beast Wars Inferno would be trying to slag all anti-movie heretics in this thread. Can nobody imagine him damning people to be burned?

I vote to close down the whole damn movie forum. I can't remember a time in the past 7 years when posting rational, respectful comments was so difficult.

 

Which is why the vast majority of board members with a join date pre-2007 rarely post in the movie forum.

Well, since The Empire Strikes Back has been my favorite movie for the last 15 years or so, I imagine that I'll very much enjoy ROTF.

How can you even create this thread titled "The haters said the same exact things about Empire Strikes Back"? When you have absolutely ZERO idea what the "delusional fanboys" were saying about The Empire Strikes Back when it came out.

Misrepresented movie review quotes from, and broken links to, professional film critic reviews DO NOT represent the Star Wars fanboys in any way, shape or form, now or even in the distant past.

You are not proveing anything, you are reaching, grasping far and wide, for any dumb little stupid thing to stick it to those you call "haters". You are not on some intelligent moral highground, you are tossing stones with the rest of the 'kids'. There was no point to this thread other than starting up yet another round of pointless namecalling. Get over yourself.

 

I don't get how so many people who have yet to see it are so eager to defend or bash the movie.

The first bad reviews to come in, and people were calling bullshit and taking the 'snooty critic' angle, while others were gloating. I couldn't do it either way. My only allegiance is to whether or not I get entertained.

I remember when The Lost World was coming out telling my friends about how it was going to be even better than Jurassic Park, because it was so much darker and had way more dinosaurs. I felt pretty stupid when I actually saw the movie.

 

This is quote mining. Empire received overwhelmingly positive reviews when it came out - those you list were in the minority.
