Has anyone else heard about this?

I saw a little video about it on Attack of the Show (G4) and it ;looked interesting in the aspect of how it works.

I don't know if it will take over from Facebook or Twitter for me because I'm already so far in, but it definitely looks interesting.

It's in field trials right now, and only letting selected people try it (so, a beta?) and I signed up, so if I'm selected I'll try it out.

What's your thoughts on this and has anyone gotten into the trial?

Never understood why people sit on facebook, but I don't care or blame them.
That being said I think it looks better than facebook.

Yeah, some people just sit on Facebook for hours and I'm like, why? I just use it to keep up with people and post events, funny videos, or to chat.

I hope this Google+ thing is easy to use. That could be its main selling point.

I think this is the way to opt in for goog's designing/ tailoring marketing to the individual user.

It's actually amusing when you look at the evolution of these sorts of sites. First there were small niche boards with profiles, then Friendster, then Myspace, then Facebook. (I believe it was this past week that Myspace was sold for less than $35 million after being purchased by Rupert Murdoch for $580 million a few years ago.)

I do find Facebook sort of irritating as there are a myriad of privacy options that need to be set if you want to have any level of control of your information. (Obviously if you use any online site you're sacrificing some level of control.) It does allow me to easily keep up with some relatives who live on the other side of the country, so it does have its function.

Google+ is much cleaner (and the video chat is much better than Skype), but it's a lonely place right now as it's so limited. None of the invitations I've sent out have been able to sign up even though they tease you out with 80 at the beginning.

Im in the trial. Somewhat interesting. Not easier to use than Facebook IMO. Not better than Facebook either. Has some potential though.

Well, I hope they tweak it some more then, because being easier than whatever it's competing with is a plus (pun intended) in the user's eyes.

If you received an invitation, it appears that those are working right now. The one I sent to a friend finally worked a few minutes ago.

EDIT: There doesn't appear to be any stated limit currently on invitations so if you'd like one, post your e-mail address in this thread as I won't respond to private message requests. (I'd suggest spelling the word AT in lieu of using the @ symbol to avoid your e-mail address being exposed or deleting your post once you've received an invitation.)

I'm also giving this a try, Not sure what I think yet, but I like the more graphical spin on this with the big pictures, and more interactive GUI.

I'm in Google+ thanks to a friendly neighborhood TFW member.

I like it. There is room for improvement... but then again what beta doesn't. It's even got some features that are better than Facebook, IMO.

EDIT: I've got my TFW circle set up! :D

    It's overrated and completely unnecessary.
It's facebook for hipsters who are too cool for facebook.

I like it. I think it's pretty interesting so far, at least as far as betas go.
