So, the Renegade Gobots had the combiner / super robot Puzzler, right? He was made up of six cars...Jigsaw, Rube, Crossword, etc. Now my question if you will...is "what if" the Guardian Gobots had their own combiner. A rival for the Puzzler. It presumably would've been or could've been a team of Guardian Gobot Aircrafts. What would've been a fitting 80s type name for the super robot? Lets for the sake of the question say it was made up of the "Series 3" aircraft...Mach 3, Bent-Wing, Ace, Bolt, Heatseeker & Bullseye. Let me hear some suggestions for combiner name for the gestalt.

I thought Puzzler was a Guardian? I don't really remember them at all except for that Robot Chicken sketch where they tried to join the Autobots. The guys who make that show actually do own most of the toys they use for the show and they knew about the Japanese versions of the Go-Bots even having a character say that Gyro-Robo was the Japanese version of Cop-tur. Though I don't really agree that the Japanese names are better when they're all a description of the vehicle followed by the word robo.

That wasn't Puzzler that was a knock-off Transformer combiner.

Puzzler was a bad guy in Gobots but a good guy in the original Machine Robo toy line, as in MR all the good guys turn into vehicles, some real life based, some made up, some sci-fi while the bad guys turn into these organic/bio-mechanical/HR Giger weird-alien ship-demonic-monster-mech things, who were literally called Devil Invaders but that is what they were called before the Revenge of Cronos anime was made though who later gave them new faction names,

also Machine Robo Rescue was Gobots combiner teams the animation, everybody combines.

Yeah, Puzzler is a knock off Transformer combiner. He was modified so that they could actually use him for the stop motion animation as all their figures are but that was Puzzler.

In the Gobots cartoon that aired in America, Puzzler and his components were Renegades. I believe however in the Japanese Machine Robo, Puzzler is a heroic character.

As for a plane combiner name that would be super 80s... I can only think of "Hijack."

No he isn't Puzzlers a gobot combiner, and this is a Zybot you're getting mixed up with.

And also Puzzler looks like this and not like a thing with a thing.

OK you're right but they do look similar. Apperently I'm not the only one who got them mixed up because when I did a search for Zybots that exact picture of Puzzler popped up in one of the search results.

Also there was a second 6 part combiner named Monsterous. I think I'm just going to fanon Puzzler into a Guardian and let Monstrous be his nemesis.

WHAT IF THE GO-BOTS DIDN'T EXIST AT ALL?!

(Sorry, its just I never liked the Go-bots designs or their characters, so excuse my bias.)

The guardians DID have a combiner.....

It was pretty unique among Transforming toys being that it turned your existing Gobots into combiners.

I have a ton of nostalgia for the GoBots toys. I did watch the cartoon too, but the toys pull some heart strings with me.

I can remember when having Leader-1 was popular on the playground even when Transformers were ruling the world.

According to my dad I had a Leader-1 when I was little though I don't remember it at all... He might be thinking of my older brother considering apperently it was dropped on my grandma's kitchen floor and broke the same day he got it and my Brother's the one with a reputation for breaking toys nearly the same day he gets them... and occasionally breaking my stuff which is why I never wanted to share and still do not let him go in my room when he comes to visit. It really sucked when we actually shared a room as kids.

as a kid I enjoyed Go bots as a suppliment to Transformers. Just wasnt enough Transformers so liked adding them to my universe. But now with so many transformers lines present and past I have no need or desire to own them again. I sold off all of mine years ago.

I did keep the Rock lords though .

You should check out the new Machine Robo toys that Action Toys are making. I've got a couple and they are really nice, I'm going to have to get the rest.

I'd love to see them do Puzzler.

I almost chased those down, then I found out they were essentially Scout class toys with die-cast parts for $45 and up. And with that, I wasn't on board anymore. They make a boxed set with plastic instead of metal, and take away all that flight stand gibberish, I'll bite.
