I really wish they had used the metal-chested versions of these guys. I would have pounced on this set in a heartbeat.

Just did up my own Mini-Mandarake just for fun. It's not complete, but I'm happy :)

I tend to believe that presentation is as vital to a collection as the content.

Will post more close-ups on my collection thread

Looks amazing! I wish I had the dedication to collect boxed items, I just physically couldn't display everything... and I agree, the display makes the collection! The exact same figures crammed into a tight space on older style furniture vs spaced out on modern pieces makes all the difference!

Not knocking the shelf stuffers as I've been one of those for years, but my end game was always a proper display :)

Very nice. This really makes me wish Takara's Encore line would reissue these.

Display is everything..;-). It really looks amazing and I am just glad I dont collect the japanese only stuff..to expensiv these days.

I am doing the same myself..one side is auto and other is decepticon. But I prefer the US boxes..for nostalgic reasons.

    No Takara max?

Unfortunately both Fort Max and Grand Max boxes were too big to fit in

Does anyone insure their collections separately or is it just under your standard house insurance?
Some of the collections I see on here have got to be worth a small fortune and definitely should have some kind of insurance.

Look who showed up at work! I've been after this guy for a while. Finally saw him for a price that I was ok with and took the plunge.
Upgrade on my Gripper too! I'm going to try and wiggle the tire of my beat up Gripper and onto this chap.

My fairly G1-centric TFCon haul from the weekend:

    -G1 Grotusque
-G1 Repugnus (already have Doubecross so completed my Monsterbots)
-G1 Gnaw (my second one for troop-building, might look for one or two more in the future)
    -G1 Scourge (another troop-builder, my 4th one...but #3 for my 86 shelf since one is a Targetmaster)
    -G1 Battletrap
    -G1 Flywheels
    -TR Skytread
    -G1 Bluestreak gun
    -Universe Sideswipe*
    -keychain Windcharger*

*Sideswipe's for my older son, younger son got WC...and kept eyeing the 'Swipe because it's what brother has! How does he know at only 9 months old??! Could not find another CHUG SSS or even G1 SS body at a decent price

    Very impressive!

Did you build it? I'd love to see some wide angle shots of the whole case for "research" purposes :)

     Truly awe-inspiring!

Sweet haul! I have all the Monsterbots too, they're great. Love the troop-building for the Sharkticons and Sweeps. I've done that for the CHUG versions, but not G1. One day...

"It is a world of constant change" doesn't quite have the same ring to it, but oh well.

I partially designed it and got someone else to build it. Unfortunately, the room is not wide enough to take a photo of the whole display. That's the best I can do.

Weird, I hadn’t noticed that change before.

I guess that’s one of those things that has to do with protecting the “Transformers” name, where if they actually refer to the process of transformation on the packaging it could make the term generic and indefensible in court if someone else tries to claim it?

My latest G1 acquisitions. I had Venom and Bumblebee as a kid (well, the standard yellow, not the red variant), but Blurr and Skullcruncher are new to me. They're all pretty great, but Skullcruncher is my favorite of this bunch. Can't beat the 1987 Headmasters. I have Venom mis-transformed a bit. I didn't like how the wings interfered with the arm movement, so I have them angling down rather than back.
