Well the difference between buying a reissue in 2002, and an original in 1985, is that we were no longer kids in 2002. LOL And, I can tell right away when a g1 optimus isn't a g1 optimus because of the smoke stacks. lol I have a reissue g1 and 2 g2's. And those smoke stacks connect to the arm with a circle thing, on the g2's. lol And those fists are extended. So, in other words, we were playing with them in 1985, by the time we got to 2002, we were collecting them. So, the ones we bought in 2002+ were no longer being played with. Thus they do tend to look just like they got taken out of the box. Plus, if I wanted a brand new G1 optimus prime to take out of a box, i'd probably just buy a reissue for that too. So, that could literally be true. Just took them out of the box! LOL I mean they may have come out in 2002, but I am sure there are still plenty of them that are still in boxes. Available to be purchased for fairly decent prices.
