Cheeky double post because I'm a dope.

I always love it when someone has a place in their heart for that 'bot that no-one else seems to like!

It wasn't quite 30 years, but I know exactly how you feel.

I owned all the Aerialbot limbs since they first came out, but I never had Silverbolt. Only time I could form Superion was when a friend brought his over.
Well, when I discovered the internet TF community in the late 90's, what do you think was the first G1 toy I bought online? :rock

That was an exciting time, getting the chance to buy all the G1s I always wanted as a child but never got (and not having to pay today's exorbitant prices :D ). Thundercracker, Smokescreen, Trailbreaker, Ironhide, the Stunticons...all toys I stared at in catalogs but never owned until I discovered the internet.

Crap, I just realized what I wrote could be construed as me nitpicking how many years it's been for you.
What I meant was I didn't have to wait quite as long for Silverbolt as you did to complete Bruticus (it was only about 14 years for me, as opposed to 30 years for you).

Sorry for the poor word choice, it made me sound like I was being a d**k to you but that was not my intention

Nice looking superion. I only got mine last year, a boxed decent condition gift set that was about the right price, I was always reticent about buying a superion as he just seems so gangly and wobbly but that's just the way he is! As it is I totally love the design, quirky and fun.

Talking superion, I did buy a loose silverbolt a few years ago and his shoulder ratchets (for superion) would not turn, I did a bit of unscrewing and unfortunately found out that part of the assembly is actually glued, so the issue is non repairable without ungluing the part. I went in there anyway and found that a small piece had been inserted the wrong way round and was preventing the joint from rotation, now it rotates but the unglued part (the black inner sides of his shoulder) now pops open slightly with each click, still it was a $5 silverbolt so no big deal. Anybody else out there have superion with non rotating shoulders??

oddly back in the 80's in the UK I remember a mail away offer from Weetabix cereal (I'm sure it was Weetabix) you sent of some tokens and received either fireflight or a car of some sort, maybe a stunticon? Anyway I ended up with fireflight, I had no idea it was part if superion but it was one of the few TF I had back then.

that thing looks shiny new! easily one of my favourite G1 toys, the transformations are satisfying, I love the way the legs transform from car even though it might be a bit over engineered.

It was Dragstrip. He still pops up on eBay from time to time. There’s a thread about it here - Weetabix Transformers (Pics inside) :)

after 12 years of ownership I find that the original reissue predaking (2005) combined mode shoulders don't seem to want to rotate any more, they were always a bit stiff but now they just wont budge, anybody else with a similar experience?

I'm tempted to open him up and try to fix things, the simplest way appears to unscrew the screws inside razorclaws robot shoulder assembly and then opening up razorclaws robot arms once removed, my only concern though is being able to rescrew the robot arm back on as you cannot access the inner shoulder to ensure all parts are adjacent prior to screwing. That would necessitate opening up the torso and that may open a can of worms as that would need to open the pelvis and hope nothing is glued.....

EDIT: spoke a bit too soon, I got some beard trimmer oil into the outer edge of that inner black rotating peg cuff and carefully worked it until hes working again.....that oil is very useful, a G1 brainstorm with the tightest ratchet i've aver known on a toy (That didn't actually break on turning) was rendered beautifully smooth on adding some oil!
