Any difference to the original?
I have this Megatron myself but i need to find him in my collection. Thanks for posting a pic cause i love me some Megatron.
Oops missed this!
In Italy, in addition to the blue-cab Powered Convoys, they also received red cab ones too. First they would have been more early mould red cabs, then later TF-mould red cabs also. Early ones would have even had grey missiles and black small fists, moving to dark blue small fists later.
In Japan, we did once see a perfectly unused red-cabbed Powered Convoy with the chrome trailer also. Not sure if that was just a product sample or a very very late and rare release there.
This was my old MIB unused red-cabbed GiG Powered Convoy
These are the only pics I have of the red cab Japanese chrome trailer version, again unused:

Nice! My wife fears the day when we will have enough space to put in a few detolfs, haha.
Very well done, nice use of space.
Thanks dude! It was essential to me that the figures get room to breathe (well, not the poor Autobot cars) - so ultimately far less gets put on display, but I am so tired of a crowded display where reaching for one figure knocks two others over.

I'm out of room myself and no room to expand. So I'm going to have to start putting new arrivals in storage.
Hi, have you guys bought any transformers from UK?
I've been toying with that idea for weeks now.
All the best
Damn Maz. That right there wants me to restart my collection again. And the cabinet looks nice also.
I used to buy all my Transformers from there
No prob. Glad I could help.
As far as I can tell, the upper arms are different. The ridges on the shoulders are gone on the reissue. Also the inner chest is different. Has the pellet firing mechanism. Finally on the reissue, you can put the barrel on the back like in the cartoon while the original you can't.
No time like the present!!
All the best
Maz, it’s guys like you with pics and collections like these that make me glad I collect G1! I just saw an amazing looking Overlord on Facebook for $1100, if only I still had that kind of cash
That's a lot of cash, I got extraordinarily lucky with my Overlord, it was basically gifted to me.
Thank you for the kind words!
All the best
Nice collection and display, Maz. I was beginning to think that I may be the only person who owns a G1 Siren...
You know, I’m getting quite antsy with all my G1s in storage currently. I don’t see them all seeing the light of day for another 4 or 5 months...
As an example, there’s no rush to buy Sunstreaker when I already have one. One with cross play for Diaclone no less.
Excellent birthday haul was had along with a good few beers last 2 days.
My abiding memory of Windcharger is the scene in Dinobot Hunt where he pulls Gears out the swamp only for them both to fall flat on thier arses and have Cliffjumper laugh at them. That's literally it. I know he had a big part in 'Raiders of the Last Ark' but I didn't get a chance to read that until broadband was a household norm. Wasn't he the only Autobot without a line of dialogue in More Than Meets The Eye? Poor neglected lad.
I don't think I have any particularly strong memories of the toy either. Huffer aside, I didn't have any great connection with the '84 Minibots. I may have played with Windcharger? I definitely played with Tailgate and remember him well, but Windcharger? Sorry dude. You're kind of forgettable.
I do think the original toy is one of the weakest of the '84 Minibot line up. Maybe only Brawn comes close, but at least he has some quirks. Windcharger is just a bit bland. Not even the fact he's based on the same car as K.I.T.T. from Knightrider can save this dude.
He did wind up getting a pretty sweet update with the Scout Class Reveal the Shield toy from 2010, but it takes some pretty big liberties with the classic design by giving him a hood chest. No bad thing at all. Looking at him now he really feels a lot more like a bay-verse toy then current Generations figures.
Which brings us to the PotP update of Windcharger. It gets so many things right. Like Seaspray before him, Windcharger's faithfulness to his G1 animation model almost makes him like a discount Masterpiece figure. The vehicle mode is incredibly simplified but still makes for a fun wee car to push around. The bot mode is an excellent, dynamic wee figure with great articulation, satisfying proportions and oodles of character.
The real problem with the toy is one of it's strengths; toon accuracy! The drive towards this in the Masterpiece line has put me off collecting MP so much that I've actually sold most of my MP scale collection. Windcharger wears it well apart from that one painful detail. The headsculpt is ugly as sin. I know, some of you will already be saying that Hasbro can't win for losing and are damned if they do and damned if they don't and so forth. And I'd agree if the RTS headsculpt didn't find a near perfect compromise between being faithful to the animation model and designing a toy that feels right in hand.
