Oh boy. I guess I'll be searching "micromaster" more often on eBay and hope to find one mislabeled or something. Glad I have time most days.

I mighta asked this question in another thread(can't remember if I did or got an answer). So i'll ask you fine folks that are heavy in G1....

I dug my G1 toys out of storage and forgot I had 2 soundwaves and of course my son wants one.1 has a con sticker with date stamps inside the battery cover and the other has a rub symbol with no date stamp inside the battery cover. Which one should I let go? Value isn't a concern to me,but I would like to keep the first version for myself. Thanks for any help.

Last year for Christmas I gave him a reissue of Ultra magnus(and he loves it and keeps it on a shelf with is G1 Prime) and I might stick soundwave in his stocking this year.

the date stamp on the one that doesn't have it is on the missing battery cover. I really don't think there's a monetary difference between the too. I'd say give him the one with out the battery cover.

Personally, I prefer the pre-rub figures over the rub-sign ones, so I would keep the Soundwave with the con sticker (pre-rub). Then again, I would do anything for my son. If he wanted it, I would be happy to oblige. If your son would be happy with either, though, I'd keep the pre-rub and give him the other. :)

Thanks guys. Looks like he is getting a soundwave for Christmas. If he wants any tapes for him.....J O B.....I'm not giving up my tapes though.

Edit: Does anyone have the forarms and hands for Devy? I just need those parts to complete mine. They don't have to be perfect, just something so he will have arms.

Question I've wanted to raise in this thread: How do you display your G1 Dirge / Ramjet / Thrust?

Toy-accurate with the flipped down cone, maybe even with the wings swapped and rotated, or cartoon-accurate?

As the cartoon was my first love in the Transformers universe, always displayed them cone up like in the show. Even went so far as to turn Thrust's rear wings upside down too and display Ramjet and Dirge's wings with the Decep logo facing outwards (meaning I had to swap them in each mode) - heck I even got extra Dirge bombs to put on the back of Thrust's wings like in the show.

    All the best

for me: no cones, transformed, not parts formed. i don't mind the other two with swapped wings, but ramjet's fins on the front bug the crap out of me lol.

Looking at my World's Smallest Starscream makes me wish all the G1 Seekers came with painted faces. They did with other reissues, why not them? Reissue Swerve just screams character with his coloured face. I can almost imagine it inspired Roberts' brilliant portrayal of my favourite Minibot.

Or remold the face and make it cartoon accurate like reissue Bumblebee. Be nice to get Tracks and Springer that way as well.

If it wasn't for the faces, it would be my favourite Seeker mold.

Not a fan of standing the cone up in bot mode though.

i display my ramjet, *only conehead i have currently* with his wings up, behind his back, it helps keep his head up, since his head is so loose. also having the cone head pointed up helps too.

my g2 starscream on the other hand, has even more troubles keeping his head up, lol so, i tend to conehead him too.

    ^ yup, very inaccurate lol

look into the holes for the pin of the cockpit pivot, the smaller end, pound out with a hammer and a nail. squeeze the body together a bit, re pin it, looseness fixed :D  just fixed my thundercracker and starscream like this a couple months ago. worked great

Ah, the 1987 Decepticon jets. Easily the most diverse set of jets by design. One of the more underrated sets post-1986.
