I also second that. Where are you presently residing @Cattus Doctus? If you're in the tropics (or anywhere that is extremely warm), then the humidity and temperature will possibly be the culprit that will soften up the plastic and cause discolouration. If not, can it be that the Styrofoam is giving off a toxic gas and going into the figure itself with no circulation present (or the undetectable UV rays that are milling about)? Is the figure in a climate controlled environment or not? I can't think of any other options (if not then it's a strange case in the reason of your Overlord getting brittle). :inquisiti

You are correct, that is a SEGA Dreamcast along with an original SEGA and SEGA CD System. The Dreamcast was and still is a great system. Cutting edge for its time and a very underrated system.

As an 80's kid I do not discriminate. The older I get the more I want all my toys back!

As someone that has M.A.S.K, Zoids, Sectaurs, Masters of the Universe, Battle Beasts, and Madballs stinking up his loft, I empathise!

    It's the Hasbro version.

I live in the Netherlands, and bought Overlord from someone in Belgium. A temperate, maritime climate, therefore. He's had his fair share of UV radiation, though - there's discolouration on most of the plastic.

There is just one other toy in my collection I need to be this careful with: a Diaclone 'Diatrain' vehicle which I've mostly given up on (lots of bits have snapped off). I remember my Powermaster Optimus Prime being pretty bad, too, but I've dismantled him for spare parts.

I don't have any of those, alas. I'd definitely take Secret Wars, Super Powers, and Centurions.
I'd also want Inhumaoids and the Real Ghostbusters.
I did miss off R.A.T.S aka Starriors. I have got some of them!

A bit more Euro G1.5 love. The Skyscorchers! Scorchio!

More quirky brilliance from this weird little inbetween phase. The light piping on these guys is as good as I've seen.I love their horrible, expressionless, TF:p  Soundwave style faces. Great, peculiar little transformation sequences too. A real surprise in how they flip and twist from one mode to the other.

I also love the way thier weapons store in jet mode. Ominous looking little bombs!

Kind of related to this topic...

I just recently moved to a new apartment. The only place to store my G1s away from direct sunlight is in a walk-in closet. I have them set up in a detolf there now. The problem is that the Air Conditioning does not get good circulation to that area, and for about 4 hours each day the sun hits that side of the building, so it gets hot in there. I think it could be up around 80-90 degrees. Maybe more.

I know there is no perfect answer for this, but what temperature would you consider a danger for long term storage?

@lazerface: I can't give you a correct answer, but have you considered getting a dehumidifier? I haven't seen or heard of any G1 TFs that have totally melted or crumbled into dust (expect for the ones that suffer from GPS namely Black Zarak, Killbison, and Bristleback. I may have missed more as these three guys are known to have GPS problems). Temps of +80 degrees F (+27 degrees C) is considered a warning sign and that measures should be taken regardless.

Not to derail the thread and any shape of fashion here folks: Can you imagine if G1 figures had a soul and that they can interact with you personally? I'm sure that this episode of The Big Bang Theory can sum it up in some way or form. :D
