Due to the lack of a G1 toy section on these boards, I thought I'd at least get a G1 specific thread started.

Feel free to post anything from pics to pick ups, just keep it G1 :thumb

Let's see if we can unite the G1 fans and get somewhat of a hangout spot going in here.

PS: Please vote on the poll if you would support the idea of having a G1 only section on TFW2005

    I’ll get it started,

What was the hardest to find G1 figure in your collection?

On my end, it has to be Bludgeon, this figure was practically impossible to find in NM condition… Seemed like every single one of them had paint wear/chipping on the skull…

Athough I don't think G1 toys are the greatest (besides the nostalgia factor), I would support a secton for the G1 toys I suppose.

Personally, I've found finding Bluestreak the hardest. I always found his hoodpiece broken so finding one mint was pretty sweet for me.

I want to accuire a G1 Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime next. Although I think it'd be cool to obtain a complete G1 collection, I don't know if I ever will.

The hardest to find of my G1 collection is Bumblebee/Cliffjumper cuz, those are all I have. I have the smallest G1 collection TFW.

Why no option for "I do not support.."? I've nothing against G1, but its not something I feel really should have its own section. I mean Animated doesn't. Beast Wars doesn't. A/E/C don't, etc.

Anyways, seeing as I only have 1 G1 figure to my name, I'd guess the one that was hardest (well not really, as I got it at a toy show, booth was full of G1) to get was Starscream. Not the best figure ever, but its a nice little display piece.

I'm a big G1 fan but at the same time don't think there's enough people or topics that will keep it active or going which would demand an extra box for it. Believe it or not G1-junie, a lot of the topics you started have already been started in the past. There's this continuing cycle of repeated threads by new comers or other folks. Again, it's a good idea but don't think it's going to happen. I mean they already shut down the animated box a couple months ago to save on space.

And my white Kirk and "regular" colored shuffler are the hardest G1 stuff I have. The dino cassettes were hard too but not as hard as those other two.

I don't really see the point in a G1-specific section, since there's nothing stopping people from posting G1-specific topics here or in Comics or in TFGD. Maybe if the entire site was redesigned to break the forums down by series instead of particular media. Even having just a G1-specific toy discussion thread seems like it might be a problem, since it could invite people starting other [series]-specific toy discussion threads (BW Toybox, Armada Toybox, RiD Toybox, etc). If they all survived, they, along with the "latest purchases" and "cool pics" threads, would probably consume most of the first page of this forum and crowd out anything else.

As far as hardest G1 figure to find, I haven't put too much emphasis on G1 collecting, due to the expense, so I've tended to just luck into some of the jewels of my collection. Top on my list would be my near-mint complete Thunderwing and Scorponok, both of which I found for a surprisingly great price.

I'm all in favor. G1 comics and the Cartoon has many fans, Collecting G1 toys is popular, and G1 started it all, and it deserves a section.

The problem is, we need people willing to devote their time and energy to making it and keeping it alive. Plus, G1 topics can just be put in General TF Discussion.

I like the idea, but I don't think we'll get it.

WHITE...I wish I had a colored Shuffler, I hate you so....
Oh and on to the topic. I am all for this. I love G1 and love talking about G1. We could talk about toys, variations, and such.

I think another good reason not to do a specific G1 thread box and to leave it here in the general TF toy thread is that it exposes everybody who likes and dislike (or more like disinterested) to G1. There are other new lines I really don't have an interest in but at the same time there's always that one great figure in that line. If it was just located in a subgroup for "energon", I would never bother to check it out. But by mixing it all up exposes a wider group, there's a higher chance of me seeing it. Don't know, that's just my opinion.

Oops, just to correct that. I meant to say I have a white kirk and a "regular" colored shuffler. But that may change in the near future. :lol
