I think it's pretty safe to say that TF3 will not be the last Transformers movie ever made. I also think it's safe to say that future TF films will come in one of three forms listed in this poll. Which would you prefer to see happen?

Personally, I am torn between total reboot in a few years, and continuing this series with a new director(s). But what do you guys think?

    What poll?

As for me, I think they'll rest things after TF3, maybe we'll see a reboot somewhere down the line.

Edit: Ah, that poll. :D  It's there now.

I say they drop this whole thing after TF3, wait a few years, then reboot and give it your "Hulk Treatment" with brand new actors, director, and even plot. Then maybe we can see a GI Joe/Marvel Crossover with them? :p  Naw lets just reboot it and go from there.

I think they'll try a fourth sequel without Bay. Depending on its success, maybe a few more. Somewhere down the road we'll see a reboot. Then fans here can scream about how much they hate "remakes." It's a vicious cycle.

I am tired of the continuity resets in Hollywood these days. Although I enjoy the TF movies and don't hate Bay as many do, after TF3 I'd be interested to see what another director could do with the franchise.

Different director if they REALLY need to change stuff up, but no Reboot, I got attached to the current robots and humans to be honest.

I think they will need to reboot sooner or later because the current continuity is just utter crap. It's not merely that the movies are crass and tasteless, they just haven't laid a solid foundation to build upon. They've been making it up as they go along, and writing themselves into corners which they then cheat their way out of. They could probably continue like this for another movie or two, but a reboot is inevitable.

I'd like to see them start over with a set of rules and a solid story arc planned out ahead of time. There's so many ways to revitalise and put a fresh spin on it, while still retaining elements that make it recognisably Transformers to a wider audience that only knows of Bayformers.

I agree, I just hope they find something that will promote the sustainability of it. By god, if Harry Potter can have nine or however many sequels, Transformers can have more than 2.

The problem is that Shia isn't a kid, and he isn't going to hang around forever. He has big ambitions, and takes himself very seriously. He is probably conscious of his image and doesn't want to be signing autographs "To Muffy, Thanks for everything, Sam Witwicky" in 20 years. So what they do without him will be interesting.

Reboot and, god willing, get a director who actually cares about the robots beyond their alt-modes and the "booms" they make.

And of course, the difference being the source material of the two franchises. I think you'll see something similar to the Batman Franchise, and a lot of what Bumblethumper said.

I'm hoping that they continue, with either bay or another director. i don't know why everyone thinks they're gonna reboot the series since they are a financial success. i only want to see a reboot if the third movie bombs horribly.

I want the same story line, different director.

BTW, "The Incredible Hulk" wasn't a reboot, it was a sequel to "Hulk"

Then how do you explain the rewritten origin story appearing in the movie "The Incredible Hulk", completely different from "The Hulk"?

Anyway, hopefully this doesn't become about the Hulk... But I have to say, TF has been a huge financial success, so I think I must echo the notion that they will try another without Bay in all likelihood, and it all depends on how that one goes.

The Incredible Hulk was more of a soft reboot. They didn't start the story all the way from the beginning; changes were made, but they more or less picked up where the previous movie was headed.

A full reboot would be something like Batman Begins, or the upcoming Spiderman reboot.
