Hmmmm...don't get me wrong, I love this version of Smokescreen's character in TFP...but I love TFP Optimus more...natch.  

Not buying that Smoke could be the new Prime..not this way...not so soon. He's too young and has a whole lot left to learn and experience. He can get there, but for me, not just yet.

 

Considering a Rodimus already exists in the continuity one way or another, he won't change his name to that. He might take on a similar role later on though, but I think it will be Ratchet leading for most of the season.

 

He gets a New Partner.

 

I am all for it. While not a new character/name/personality, Smokescreen is one of the few positive points Prime has for me still. Play up that "Chosen One" angle.

Oh please. Like inconsistency isn't everywhere in the whole "Aligned" continuity mess.

Yeah, Smokes can be the so called "next/new Rodimus Prime" but I don't it would happen in TFP.

I don't think OP died (or even WJ), he (they) may have injured but not a goner (at least not yet).

 

No to Rodimus Prime, I want Smokus Prime instead.

If anyone was to take OP's place, it'd be Arcee, since she IS his Second In Command, I'm just surprised Prime didn't give Jack the Key again, just as a precaution.

But Smokescreen in charge?! That's like putting a raw recruit fresh out of boot-camp in charge of a full combat unit with almost not experience. It's just asking for disaster.

 

I think at this point Ratchet is 2nd in command. Arcee would be a huge mistake.

I can see him becoming the next Prime but not for awhile. He still has much to learn and still quite young. Besides, right now I don't think

I'd like to see Smokescreen become a Prime, but don't call him Rodimus Prime. Just give him a brand new name.

 

I would definitely support them having Smokescreen become Optimus's heir as the new Prime. I don't think they would, or want them to, call him Rodimus Prime. Though I don't really know what they should call him if this ever actually happens. Smokescreen Prime just sounds...stupid, and I can't think of any S names that would sound good. I also have no idea what he should reformat into...

 

Smokus Prime could work and he could turn into a stock car with a battle mode, kind of like the Wreckers from DOTM. Going from normal street racer to battlle ready four wheeler of doom.

 

Maybe if there's a time skip. But they've played up the "YOU A ROOKIE AND EVERYONE GONNA LECTURE YOU" shtick so much that it would feel weird for him to just suddenly be a Prime. If they paced it good then maybe.
