I've been getting into this series over the past few years, and was wondering if there were any fans on TFW?

I have a few resin kits from the series that i'm working on. Anyone else buy any of the kits? Be it plastic or resin?

I just got the K.A.N. Beta recently and am going to be working on it over the summer.

I also have the Yen Xing. I fear working on this simply because of all of the thin resin parts. Might get to it after K.A.N. Beta

And i bought a kneeling posed Flame Empress as a cheap recast to test out my skills on these highly detailed kits.

Here's what i've done so far for the colors for the empress

I used to follow FSS and the kits pretty religiously; used to post a lot in the old forums, prior to gundam.com going kaput, and when everything moved to <the forum I can't remember the name of>, and then again to gearsonline I sort of lost touch. I've got a bunch of resin kits unbuilt in my closet, including a 1/100 Volks Vatshu that's been half painted for the better part of a decade, both a 1/100 LED Mirage and Knight of Gold V3, and an Ashura Temple. Even got a 1/144 Jagd Mirage Left kit. All of those I have to imagine will never get built, which is a damn shame. I'd love to have the time and willpower to pick them up again and get them built.

The only FSS kits I've actually ever finished were the old IP Wave LED Mirage and Vatshu and a 1/144 LED; They've long since been lost to the dust monsters, sadly.

Nice detailing on the Empress, by the by. That's a kit that needs a good deep, glossy red.

Looking into it, it looks like the pre-orders for the Wave IP Led V3 Inferno Napalm have already come and gone, huh? I remember how excited I was to hear they were making 1/100 kits again, thinking that it'd be so much easier to get them than the resin releases. Oh, how foolish I was...

I wouldn't have any place to put it, anyway :(

    That's a great hidden stash!

Is that 1/144 jagd Mirage the bust? Or the full kit?! I ordered a bust from E2046 but the USPS seems to have lost my package. Once i finish up some of my backlog of Gundam kits, i'm going to try to order the 1/100 Jagd Mirage from G System Best. It's a little under 2ft tall!

    Whoops, it's not 1/144. It's the 1/220 one.

I presume since you mentioned it only being 2 feet, you aren't contemplating the twin tower version ;)

Just remembered that I have a WSC Terror Mirage too.

The cheapest i could find the 1/100 Twin Tower for was for about 750 shipped. lol I don't think i could ever buy the twin towers. I'd be terrified of it falling over.

    Regular 1/100

This is the one i ordered that is lost in the mail. :/

They also make the orange version to go with it.

I've only admired the mechas from afar. Not being able to read the manga Kinda detered me from getting anything related to this series (that and most of the stuff made of this series are higher ending models that require a lot of attention to detail)

There is a ova/movie which is pretty much volume one of the series. All of the original series has been translated into English. There is a new revamp out that has yet to be translated.

I've been trying to find a set of the original volumes for a good price. Still looking. lol

For now i make do with digital copies of them.

I read some of the comic when it first came out because I was a big fan of L-Gaim (and was buying Newtype anyway), but I've never attempted any of the models.

I wish they would do some updates on the L-Gaim kits as well.

    Yaaaaaaayy

A zombie thread with some actual new content!!!!!!!

    Looking great!!!!

You really weren't kidding about it being a ghost town in here though, I guess FSS kits are just a bit too expensive and too much work for something barely anyone in western countries know or care about :/

Sigh, I need to buy an airbrush, and track down a Scarlet Phantom

Yeah, I've always LOVED the kits, but I have a complete lack of painting skill at at that kind of expense I just couldn't get into them. Really enjoy looking at them though...

Nice finish! I think I've given up on any hopes of ever building my FSS kits. I just don't have the time anymore.
