We're very used to hearing the phrase: The game of the Movie. But I think its starting to turn. Gears of War, Halo and Lost Planet have films in production and a Guitar Hero one could be in the works. Why do you think of this: Will it help the game industry or make games more rushed

As long as none of them are handed over to Uwe Boll they might have a chance at being good.

Its not really a new thing though, there's been films like Tomb Raider and Resident Evil
And before then there was Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 2 and Mario Bros.

But yeah, most game films suck, except Mortal Kombat, that was awesome (Armageddon not so much)

I've seen a couple of them. They aren't too bad. On a side note, I can't remember what the movie was called, but it was about a video game that would kill you after you played it. I'm kinda disappointed that they never actually made a playble version of the game, as far as I know anyways. It would have been slightly odd playing it, but something I would have gotten anyways.

Hitman was watchable, which was nice.

Max Payne is actually looking like it might be really good.

9 times out of 10 movie games suck donkey balls, but it seems that game movies are about at 50% for suckiness. For every Mario Bros or Street Fighter there is a Resident Evil, Hitman, or Silent Hill.

I think as long as good games are turned into movies that stay pretty true to what made the game great then they'll work. Though games based off of Guitar Hero or Duck Hunt is just fucking stupid. Frankly, hollywood is shit out of ideas. The only thing that they've got to work with are generic romantic comedies, remakes, video games, and comic book movies now.
