What's the figure that started your Transformers collection? Mine is HFTD Terradive. I got him after I stopped with the whole Transformers franchise for a couple years. I'm glad I got him, he's an awesome figure! What are yours?

I guess it was Universe Starscream. I bought him just because I loved Screamer's small part in the '86 movie (my first exposure to G1), but the simple yet awesome transformation of the toy made me just explode and go OMG MORE NOW.

Depends what you mean by 'collecting'. I had a collection as a child, but not one of the many figures I had was bought by myself, being only 6 years old at the time.
If we're talking about actual, grown-up building a collection, then it would be either Alternators Smokescreen or Commemorative Reissue Ultra Magnus. I have long since sold both of them, but buying them from TRU back in the day sparked me off again as an adult with disposable income.

When I first started my Transformers collection, Armada Hot Shot (a piece of crap that thing is) and Energon Megatron got me into buying TFs.

After I quit TFs during the ROTF era, just one month before DOTM hit theaters, I had got back into TFs and Generations Dirge was the one that truely got me back into figures and actual collecting.

The figures that started my adult collection and had me bring out a few figures from my younger years.....Battle in Space Rodimus and Cyclonus. I bought it on a whim and it has cost me so much money since...

Universe Classics Starscream. I have always bought G1 figures here and there trying to recapture my childhood. But when I saw that they were remaking the G1 figures, it was on like Donkey Kong

The one figure that started me into collecting heavily was Alt Silverstreak. Couldn't pass him up at Walmart and was just an amazing figure.

RiD X-Brawn was my first TF, but I didn't start collecting until the Cybertron line with Red Alert.

Classics. Bought a couple when they were initially at retail- Rodimus, Bumblebee, and Starscream. Got Ramjet and Optimus a little after.

Then a year and a half or so.

Bought a Henkei Megatron at SakuraCon '08. Then nothing until the fall when I spotted Sunstreaker and Prowl at retail, googled them up and found Peaugh's YouTube page and a review where he mentioned this board.

And that's how I got where I am now, several thousands of dollars and a couple of shelves in.

WFC Optimus. I was completely hooked on that game and discovered reviews of his toy on youtube. Then he became mine.

    Classics Starscream and Bumblebee.

I don't have them any more (money was more important at the time), but they will always be my firsts.
