Here's why:

1. It's a cool name.

2. It's G1 accurate . . .

3. - but it's essentially a blank slate.

It's the perfect combo because you can pay dues to G1, and essentially do whatever you want with it.

 

I'm going to be different and say "Override" from TF: Cybertron/Galaxy Force. Here's why: It allows them to put another female transformer in the mix.

Ah who I'm kidding, it'll be Autobot Hot Rod, and he'll be in the movie all of 10 seconds.

 

Hot Rod or Overdrive would be cool, or a yellow version for Sunstreaker.

 

Darn you right... I already voted HoTroD.

 

Whoever it is, it better not be Hot Rod. If it was Rodimus in a homage to mostly his Animated/G1 body... we'll talk.

Wheeljack'd be a nice touch.

But face it guys - how do we know Kruger won't pull a ROTF and focus on only a character or two, like the Twins and Frenzy? This Autobot could just be cannon fodder like Ratchet, Arcee, or the other Autobots.

 

Although I like the look of the car, I wouldn't mind it if they turned the tables from the first two movies and threw in a bunch of Autobots with no purpose other than to get killed off real quickly and make the 'cons look more epic.

Again, I know that won't happen - unless this one actually does suffer that fate for no other reason than it's not a GM product. If that were the case I would HOPE for Hot Rod.

 

Either Sunstreaker or Cliffjumper, but please be Sunstreaker!!

 

meh, i like hot rodimus much more then just being Rodimus, or Hot Rod, maybe it's just me, but if we can have names like "optimus prime" and "ironhide" then we can have names like Hot Rodimus too. which i like way more then just being "rodimus".

Personally, im just glad to have another deluxe/ Human alliance toy to buy!  

 

And here we go again... fans will continue to try to find a G1 root for this car, despite the fact that this movie franchise cares little about what character was what car and what colour in the 1980s.

They'll just slap some stupid name on it (maybe "Erector?"), film him driving around, he'll probably do at least one cool move at the start of the movie to make sure kids buy the toys - then he'll only be seen in the background of the big fight at the end - or he'll yell something like "run Sam!" while he gets shot at.

It might be HOtRod, and may not, but if it were Sunstreaker, would Hasbro allow another YELLOW Autobot to join the team? (It comes in yellow.)

anyway I bet its either sidwswipes new look of Sunstreaker.
