    The Fallen

    Hello folks!

It's been a while since I've posted a custom here, just been really busy with work and school. Tis the season to customize!

Aside from working on my upcoming 16 inch tall Devastator I've also been working on other characters. One of them is The Fallen, I haven't really seen many customs of him so I did one. Hope to get him done withing the next 2-3 weeks. So far I've been working on the gas tanker, check out the uploads below.

    *** UPDATE *** 05/02/2009

    I need feed backs here..

Yesterday I removed all of the wheels and painted it with HOK Dull black. My intention was to originally chrome them, but after seeing it black, not sure.... To chrome or not to chrome that is the question?

Check out the third photo, I ran it trough Photoshop and added anodized red along the lip of each wheels..

    *** UPDATE *** 05/14/2009

I spent the whole day stripping off that orange peel on the pieces, then refinishing the base paint all over again. By the way the flames are also done.... I think? Don't want to overkill the whole flames thing, but I'm thinking about extending the flames from the front and adding a bit more to both sides of the tank. What do you guys think? Any suggestions??

This is just the test fit, bc yesterday I also shot the pieces with automotive clear, just waiting for the paint to cure then correct the trapped dust and minor blemishes (It's cold up here in Nor Cal) by sanding and polishing it.

    New uploaded photos below.

    *** UPDATE *** 05/14/2009

Fresh out of the oven!:p  Just assembled and polished the piece this morning. Oh by the way I added airbrushed more fire...

I started sanding The Fallen last night, I should get to the painting part within this week.

    *** UPDATE *** 06/19/2009

ALMOST DONE! I've got 95% done, I just need to add in those details.. O yea..Thanks for the inspiration Encline, seeing your ROTF Nemy & Fallen made me add couple of LEDs on this piece.

    *** UPDATE *** 06/21/2009

I was supposed to upload more today, but hey, It's Father's Day! I'm grilling up BBQ and enjoying the hot weather.

Here's a photo taken from my phone, I will upload clear shot tomorrow.

O yeah, to all the dad out there, HAPPY FATHERS DAY!! Cheers!!!

It looks like it's gonna be a killer custom but one question....Why use the Optimus Prime type truck as his form?

I believe he should be a tank with lava oozing out of his body, but what the heck lets use a truck. I hope this doesn't offend any Fallen fan it's just a personal preference. ;)

    By the way thanks guys.

I have the tanker trailer as well, and it's all kinds of cool. Excellent choice for a base mold as a custom :thumb

Yea thought it'd be cool if I use a gas tanker to go with the fire theme, but we'll see if I can find a nice MP Trailer as an addition to the project.

Yeah flame tutorial please! (can't have enough of those)

I tried my hand one some flame techniques last weekend (on a beer crate) But I couldn't get it right. I did get the depth in.. just not the flames :(

I figured the fire was airbrushed, but how? Did you use the true fire method?

Some people call it true fire, real fire, wild fire but its all same. Patience, a nice airbrush and automotive paint (I use House of Kolor) is the only way to achieve that type of fire.

Its sort of complicated to do, it took me months to learn the basics. I learned trough YouTube watching those "How To" tutorials. IMO Its all about patience and lots and lots of practice, eventually you will find your style....
