    Remember these? The End (comics)

I would like to see one for the Transformers.
It would be great if the Dreamwave artists and writers could come together to do this.

Cybertron as a dead planet might be better than it blowing up.

A 12 to 25 issue long mini-series. Transformers: The End :rip

No it wouldn't. Dreamwave art is garbage, and the writing isn't much better.

What continuity are you talking about? Cybertron was already dead once in IDW.

    That's not a mini-series.

Like many others, I like their art and writing.

The regular characters that are in the series. Mostly G1 and G2.

    12 issues is a maxi-series. (DC comics) 52 was a mini-series.

    Comic book mini-series

I did not start the thread to argue the points. Just to discuss the comic idea.

    Really?

What continuity? Marvel, Sunbow, Dreamwave, IDW...which one?

Then call it a maxi-series. 52 wasn't mini by any measurement, despite what some guy on Wikipedia says. Short-term, sure.

    We are discussing the idea.

To be fair, you're talking about the Pat Lee aspect of Dreamwave art. There was a lot of great talent with Dreamwave outside of Lee. Guido Guidi and Don Figueroa were amazing.

As far as a "The End" story, Regeneration One is sort of that, isn't it? 20 issues to tell the end of the Transformers story?

Finally someone who gets it. ;)

I want the story to be detailed and involve as many characters as possible.
    As many issues as needed.

The end comics are usually about death.

Loved Don's art in his time with Dreamwave, hated his humans though.

I love the coloring for the on going, UDON wasnt it?

I would suggest reading the Marvel UK story, "Peace" from the 1989 Annual. Peace - Transformers Wiki

Interesting. I'll have to take a look at that soon.

There should be more people commenting on how they would like to see "the end" come and details about the characters and what happens.

It was done with the 'Peace' story mentioned above. I never need to see the idea revisited again. Especially not with terrible dreamwave art.

The "peace" comic is not anything like "The End" comic.

So, no it has not been done.

Er, I'm not sure how "Peace" ISN'T like a "The End" comic. Far future, war over, characters die, ironic twist in that it'll never end. Because it's not a terminal endpoint of the entire universe, so that nothing can come after it? Very few "The End" comics were that.

Thought I havn't read "The End", I thought of Pax Cybertronia.

    (edit)
It seems to be intended to be future, but RID #5 treated it as
Ironhide's vision of future, which is shown when OP used the Matrix to reset Cybertron

I think there's enough "ends" already for G1-ish universes, I don't really need to see another, especially knowing it'll never be the TRUE end.

Thanks Chris... wasn't sure how to respond to the most obvious suggestion of a 'The End' comic in TF getting shot down like that. It actually stunned me.

I suppose "Pax Cybertronia" qualifies in it's own way as an endpoint to IDW's universe, even if it is retconned out in its own way. Just not a particularly satisfying endpoint!

Couldn't the "The Last Days of Optimus Prime" be one? Sort of anyway.

I was just about to suggest that. Great minds, eh?

"Peace" in my mind is another possible though, and even perhaps "Another Time and Place", which deals with the final destruction of the remaining Decepticons and arguably could feed into Last Days.

I think Regeneration 1 will qualify when all is said and done, though.

I would buy a "the End" series.... I loved "Hulk, the End".
Last stand of the Wreckers kinda had an element of this in it. I would like a more dignified, albeit out of continuity, end for the Dinobots, Throttlebots, Wheelie, Blaster, Seekers, Junkions etc....

Haha :)  It's short but apt I think.

I honestly miss the myth building established by the tail end of Beast Wars. They really put out a lot of fiction back then tied in to the G1 comics, back when people weren't obsessed with creating new continuities every time out. I especially liked the nods they gave in the names, J'nwan anyone? :lol

I'd like to see what Furman has up his sleeve now that he has time to write a proper finale.

Technically the "end " of transformers g1 is a bunch of non descript bots running over a green hill in the last episode of beast machines and that's honestly good enough for me
