Prime vs Nemesis

I find it really hard to believe Silas able to fight and perhaps nearly kill Optimus. If Optimus supposedly had thousands of years of fighting experience and Silas with some martial arts and other fighting styles I'm sure and same goes for Optimus. I kind of find it hard to believe Silas almost killing Prime in that moment before Fowler coming in to save the day. Prime should have totally beaten the living crap out of that copy or out maneuvered the old man.

I still liked the episode overall but just that little moment to me just seemed off and didn't click well with me.

If anyone really agrees with me on this but did any of you guys feel the same way?

 

I actually said, "...holy crap" out loud when I saw it.

 

No, not really. While Optimus and Silas/NP are going at it Silas keeps bragging about all the combat training he's had, etc etc.

 

All right.

There is Prime's fighting style I suppose and by thinking more on it maybe he only knows so much and what he is able to do then I guess that's one thing going up against someone whose probably trained himself to know more than probably Prime knows.

Guess I always viewed humans a bit less in tf shows going up against bots or whatever.

 

Well, he's going against a human that is controlling a copy of him that is just as strong and maybe a little quicker because of the machines they created to control Nemesis. I agree about the fighting style. Silas's fighting style probably differs from Optimus's and that might have put Optimus at a bit of a disadvantage as well. And while Optimus cares about things Silas absolutely does not. So that would make him much more ruthless with his fighting.

 

My "damn prime is stupid moment" is when it nemesis turns from the fight to climb the ladder and prime just follows him. Why not shoot his legs off or something???

I'll tell you why Nemesis had a chance. Because, as Silas said, he does not feel pain.

 

It's also possible that since MECH got Optimus's specs in the first place that they know his strengths and weaknesses (physical weaknesses, faults in fighting techniques etc.) and MECH being MECH had most likely formulated a plan where NP would be able to take down Optimus. Now I may be giving them way to much credit, but I assume if you're going up against giant extraterrestrial robotic lifeforms that you'd want to be as prepared as possible.

 

They should've just stayed quiet when Bumblebee came around.

Of course that wouldn't make for good television.

I disagree. different planets, different fighting styles. it's all a matter of rock paper scissors.

 

^This! It's tough to face an opponent who doesn't feel the pain of your attacks, and is able to come right at you with the same amount of power you'rer dishing to him. It definitely isn't the fighting styles, seems to me they were quite evenly matched until the very end when Silas stabbed Prime.
