CHAPTER 1.14 “Megatron sent his Predacons to capture Mata Nui and they were successful. With him in their captivity, Megatron then ordered his soldiers to build a machine to harness his mask’s power and create for him new soliders. This was nearing completion when Optimus Primal and the Maximals launched an all out attack to rescue Mata Nui. “Megatron ordered all available Predacons to battle, saying the completion of the machine was their number one priority. However, the battle became so great that every Predacon was required to fight, leaving Mata Nui stuck, connected with the uncompleted machine. This was very depressing for Mata Nui, his friends the Maximals were fighting to save him and he was useless to do anything. At some point in the battle, he decided to try to overload the machine with the power of his mask. But the machine was not finished, and by attempting to transfer power to it the machine quickly became unstable. And the result of this endeavor was both wonderful and horrible.” The Transformers were listening with great interest, “The machine exploded. The explosion was so great in size and power that it engulfed the entire planet, sky, and beyond in its light. Every Maximal and Predacon was caught in the explosion, and were either destroyed, killed, or damaged to such a degree that they went into a permanent state of unconsciousness. Mata Nui himself was greatly affected by the explosion. He sealed his spirit inside his mask just as the explosion destroyed his body. The mask was unharmed, but the explosion propelled it to a location that to this day remains a mystery. “This is not to say only bad things came from this. Although the explosion resulted in the disappearance of Mata Nui and the effectual elimination of the Transformers, it had another effect. The explosion, in combination with the power from Mata Nui’s mask, caused the power to spread across the planet. This power infected every living organic creature and…..transformed them, for better lack of a word. Birds transformed into Nui-Rama, monkeys turned into Brakas, dinosaurs became Kane-Ra, and so on with the other creatures of our planet. Essentially the explosion gave birth to the planet we live on today. “Well, there you have it. That is the old story that’s been passed down through the years.”
