I have been noticing everyone says bad things about the 07 Drones. (Exept Dropkick) I just got Dreadwing today and he's okay.

So why do people hate the Drones?

Only one I don't really like is Payload, it would be good if it didn't have that gigantic rod sticking out of its back. Ithought I was the only one who liked Dreadwing/ Overcast nice to know there are others out there!

The only one I have is Dreadwing, and I really like him (though that could be because of the Reign of Starscream).

I think Fearswoop's colors look wierd. Either Hooligan or Hobbes.

I believe he means the Movie-verse Decepticon toys with the lens heads from the Movie 1 toyline (i.e. Dreadwind, Payload, Swindle, their repaints, and to a lesser extent, Dropkick).

The primary reason for hate for these toys, based on what I've noticed, is a dislike for lens heads on anyone who isn't named Shockwave or Whirl, as it's "lazy" and apparently robs the character of expression.

As has been stated by others, the only problem I have with these toys is Payload's giant back-lever, and my Dropkick's inability to lock one of his arms into place. They're fine toys otherwise, particularly Dreadwind, IMO. (Can't speak for Swindle or his repaints, as I don't own them.)

I think there's a difference between SW/Whirl's monocle styleings and the gigantic lens heads of the drones ~ i just thought they looked pretty silly.

I actually liked Payload's bot mode design (head aside) but the gi-freaking-gantic rod sticking out the back completely ruined the figure. Didn't Dreadwind have Armada Thrust-style thruster hands?

was Dropkick the 'con Lowrider pickup? Deco aside, that was actually probably one of the best molds from the 07 movie line.

Exactly right. Woulda been called Hooligan too, but they couldn't get the trademark. So they used the name of his similarly-colored fellow Cyberjet instead.

I don't actually own the drones myself, but I do like them. Building your Decepticon ranks made easy. I would love to have lots of Dreadwings and Overcasts.

I think another reason for the hate is that while several of the toys of characters who are actually in the movie have accuracy issues coming out the wazoo, these toys of drones from a game adaptation made by people clearly not allowed on the same continent as the script are pretty much dead on.

Oh, I agree. Dropkick and Longarm (white Autobot tow truck) are two of my favorite Movie 07 toys.

I actually found him after that post ~ seriously, he has one of the best transformations ever designed. I'm not a huge fan of the chicken leg formers of the movies, but he even manages to make that look pretty cool and good. My only knock on him is the obnoxiously huge con symbol and the way his arm cannons can't fold back out of the way (they can point down or forward, would be nice if they could fold flush back under the arm.) <-- but that's a minor nit.
