I love the highway battle and the fight between Crankcase, "Hooligan" and Ironhide, Sideswipe.

Eventhough they had a short screentime, it was flawless.
The design, the animation (especially the running-animation of Hooligan) and their style of fighting. Pretty damn cool.

They were great. Looked great and made for an intense chase and standoff scene.

Why do you keep calling Crowbar Hooligan?

    He looks nothing like Hooligan.

Is it ironic in a movie with Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave a lot of fans liked these guys better? For me they are some of the best Decepticons in the entire series. Crowbar and Crankcase were great and the chase scene was excellent. I only wish we got to see more of the sneaky/covert ops side of them, since they are primarily supposed to be a team of assassins, trackers and spies, and Megatron's finest ones at that. I would of loved a scene showing them killing some scientists ala Lazerbeak, or hacking/breaking into NEST HQ to find Sentinel Prime's location.

I hope to god we get some decent deluxed sized releases of Crowbar and Hatchet...

The Dreads were awesome. Crankcase was my favorite though. But Hatchet was very unique. Let's face it a dog creature with dread locks and pierced nose. Weird, but cool. I can't wait to see more figures of the Dreads.

After seeing it i want a Voyager Crowbar with his weapons as those fire maces.

Seeing Hatchet transform for the first time madevme wish theyd kept his toy vehicle mode. Who wouldn't of loved seeing him crash down on the street in his beast mode?

Codenames for concept art of the dreads gave them different names; Crowbar's was Hooligan.

I would have liked to see more of them again, fighting the wreckers (you know... 3 vs 3)

They were cool, I mean, I liked them a lot. I don't really see why they're such a big deal though.

woww..at last someone make this thread..i like every dreads designs..and now i wish hasbro will make toys for last two of them..preferably on voyager size since crankcase is too small..

their scene imo is one of the best scene in dotm..the 'battle' music score on their scene was so amazing..i very enjoyed watched that scene..but poor hatchet..they made him like sideways on rotf..running around then get killed so easily..

I think they could have survived, as said crowbar only got shot once, and as it said in the book dreads are adept at making damage appear worse than it is. also movievrse mechs have servived being put through fiery esplosions(bonecrusher, ironhide, Megatron, scrapper, ect)

    Here's what I think:
Crowbar - Could have EASILY survived, only shot in the face once and we didn't even see his corpse afterwards.

Hatchet - Kind of hard as he got his head chopped off, but who knows, maybe he has a healing factor or something.

Crankcase - [very] unlikely, but possible: he got his face hit with his spikey-weapon, beaten up into a car and kicked into a fiery explosion, the only thing that really gives him a chance of survival is the above-metioned fact that 'Cons tend to survive fiery explosions, and the fact we didn't see his corpse [probably because there was no corpse left, but whatever].

You know what? Screw DOTM, I'll write fanfic about their survival!

Besides the fact that Bay COMPLETELY ripped off the 'Predator' franchise with one of them...they were BADASS

I think there's a difference between "rip off" and "HOMAGE".
Besides, that only made Crankcase even MORE badass, better than all of his multiverse counterparts. Easily.

I really enjoyed them. The action was solid with them. Too bad the rest of the Decepticons weren't as good. I would have loved them to have more screen time.

Since the Dreads were based on the Predators, I wish Peter Cullen has voiced them.

my favorite part of the movie was their entire sequence.

i really think crankcase was modeled after predator while crowbar was after a xenomorph.

those long spikey dreds he had reminded me of a dozen alien tails.

    ^This
I think the "Codenames" do fit the actual characters more than their actual names.
So I will be calling them "Crankcase, Hooligan and Dirtbag".
