Due to the Oscar buzz, WB has decided to rerelease The Departed to 1300 theatres across the country this weekend.
My pick for best of the year, do yourself a favor if you haven't seen it and catch it this weekend.
And no, I don't know what effect this will have on the DVD release date.

Eh, I didn't care for it so much. Might've liked it better if they titled it "OMG! Cellphones!!".

If you guys liked the Departed, check out Infernal Affairs. This was the movie it was based on.

Saw the Hong Kong version that Departed is based on recently. Not too bad. I may rent the DVD and watch it.

I enjoyed it, but was a bit lost with the ending. And I'm usually the guy who laughs at guys who say that.

Internal Affairs is actually part of a trilogy. I heard in an interview with Wahlberg that they may be making a sequel and/or prequel to the movie.

Not to be confused with the Richard Gere movie Internal Affairs.

I'm gald we're getting it back at our theatre. With 'The Queen,' 'Babel,' 'The Departed,' 'Dreamgirls,' Pan's Labyrinth,' 'Volver,' and 'Pursuit of Happyness,' we're chock full of Oscar contenders.

Of course, we also have 'Blood and Chocolate,' 'The Hitcher,' 'Epic Movie,' 'Codename: The Cleaner,' and 'Alpha Dog,' which are more along the lines of Razzie contenders.

Hmm, I think I'll wait 2 weeks for the DVD. Kind of poor timing for a rerelease...or for the DVD release, depending on how you look at it.

It's Infernal Affairs not Internal Affairs! :p

The Departed was a great flick! It wasnt based on Infernal Affairs though... It's pretty much a scene by scene copy! haha

my fiance and i saw this over the weekend. she hated it, but really isnt a big fan of gang movies. she loves horror and other violent movies, but something about this one just bugged her. she thought it was too long, and didnt tie up loose ends. i dug it. love bloody crazy movies, and jack was amazing. however, i dont see why the hell this is in the running to be the best movie of the year. it definately doesnt live up to the hype, but ignoring the hype makes the movie way more fun. at least for me. i can always enjoy a movie that just shoots the crap outta everything....
