Is it my imagination or are these books getting thinner?
By my reckoning, the last 40 chapters (not issues) will average 6.5 issues a volume. Still very good value for a hardback collection but some of that will depend on extras. The early volumes will vary more. As the releases are more random, the volume sizes will go up and down a lot.
Any subscribers got the Headmasters volume yet?
No. I'd give it a week.
and yet they still cost the same...
It's all Brexit's fault again.
Yep - mine arrived on Friday, complete with a pair of bookends. (Frustratingly, both were Autobot ones - I gather it's supposed to be one of each, which means some lucky devil has got two Decepticon ones.)
Guess mine shouldn't be too long then. Cheers dude.
When are we getting volume one? I would really like to see that very first TF issue arrive to put at the front of the others I have. Plus if any newbies ARE seeing all this material for the first time it might be nice for them to see where it all started sooner rather than later.
Also, did we really need the first half of Regeneration One put out so early in this? It's really not been THAT long since the series finished as single issues.
Assuming no more changes, issue 14 will be volume one. But Dark Cybertron comes first and that was very recent.
Given Furman's fixation with trying to convince fandom that they really do love RG1 and Generation 2 was just a minor footnote we should just ALL FORGET ABOUT, I'm surprised it took him to issue #10 before trotting it out.
As Michael says, issue #14 is scheduled to be vol 1. Vol 2 has been mentioned as issue #34 (and will contain the early UK strips).
My issues 7 & 8 still havent arrived in the post? Is anyone still waiting on theirs?
Mine came today. As expected.
It seems that volume 12 is now Hearts of Darkness instead of the Cosmic Carnival. I imagine they are aware that some people are only interested in the marvel and have decided to space them out a little.
Well, Boo-urns! to that! 12 Volumes in and still no volume of the original "Mini-series" 4 issues?
Should be 14. Two issues after this coming one. Fingers crossed.
I'd look forward to it but seeing as they've already bumped "Commander Modesty"'s appearance that I was quite anticipating I give 'em the ol' side eye until it actually drops.
I'm slightly disappointed that in only eleven issues both Optimus and Megatron have already had two cover appearances each. Surely it's not that difficult to come up with other G1 characters to give covers to.
Actually, I reckon they're missing a trick here. There should be a different G1 character on each cover and then on the inside of the cover would be that character's profile, tech specs and character boxart and a picture of their alt mode. No extra pagecount needed, but it would provide a nice bit of extra content. Since this is running for forty issues plus that could cover the original crews fairly nicely. And it would be like having an extra (profile) book spread over the run.
Probably don't have the rights to them, either the old Marvel Universe profile content or the later Dreamwave ones. Or it conflicts with that other book containing boxart (Legacy?). Or they're getting their own release again somewhere down the line.
I was hoping they'd use a different character for each cover (preferably a character relevant to the story inside) but the images they are using are from promo material about ten years ago. Used on birthday cards and the like. So I guess it's only a limited amount of characters and mostly all season one.
I'm glad we're getting more of the newer IDW stuff soon as I'm less familiar with that. Read the original Marvel stuff not only on first release but in the Titan reprints too so I'm less excited for that. Recent IDW and the coloured black and white UK strips are what I look forward to the most.
I agree. I'll already have half the stuff in one form or another. All ,hail ,Megatron onwards is a blur for me.
Interestingly, with reference to my last post, the current issue features a Hardhead profile.
