So, who went to see this? Does it have some merits, or is it a complete POS all around?

EDIT: Shit, forgot the SPOILERS tag.

I went to the midnight showing last night and there were more people than I expected. As far as the movie goes, I really didn't like it. It was ok, and it definitely had a message, but it just kinda went along through the story and not too much happened. I was disappointed w/ it b/c I haven't seen a good sci-fi movie in awhile, and I still haven't seen a good sci-fi movie.

On a related note, the Wolverine movie trailer was excellent. I actually missed the first part of it b/c I didn't realize the trailers were starting, but the 2 minutes I did see made it look fantastic.

Hehe, I dunno about Deadpool, but definitely Gambit, who I didn't know was going to be in it, so that was a very nice surprise.

This movie's a disgrace, pissing on the corpse of (arguably) the greatest classic science fiction film of all time.

I just saw this movie and... Seriously, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. The Day The Earth Stood Still was an amazing movie!! I enjoyed it thoroughly from beginning to end. Great way to spend the last hours of my B-Day, that's for sure.

I saw a free screening of it on IMAX the other day, I was still disappointed. First off, Will Smiths' son just made you want to punch the shit out of him. Stupid kid. Not enough destruction by GORT, at least his physical self (thats all I would say). And I wanted to see some real action (and once again that is all I would say without spoiling the movie). And the ending, WTF? Thats it?? F-U!!

Although I have to give credit for the GORT visuals, I thought they were pretty cool whenever he was on screen. Keanu Reeves was decent because he was himself :lol  .
