I think it looks great, but I think his collection "value" is only "infant" if compared to this board. I believe most of our members are past 3k.

Yeah, I have to agree... MY collection dwarfed that, and I had a small one... I know 3 people (just off the top of my head) who could add a zero to the end of that, without beating an eye... $3k is a "casual collector" for things like SW or TF...

Actually, given what the guy's hobby is, it doesn't seem too bad. $900 on Star Wars toys over that amount of time is not that much.

Hell, I've easily spent that much on newer Transformers in the last 5 years.

In fact, we had a poll a week or two ago, with how much we spent on TF. You know, many ppl spend more than 3k per year. He is talking about a decade.

My TF collection dwarfs this and I have spent way more than 3 Grand on TF related things.

    Fixed that for you :thumbs2:

Seriously he has to be on the low end of Star wars collectors, I know I am probably pushing $3k in toys alone.

I think my collection of just over 100 TF's is probably hovering around 1k. Not sure as I didn't bother to keep track.
Pretty modest compared to other great collections I've seen on this board.

That's because SW toys have shit for resale value. Three thousand wouldn't even buy you my Botcon toys.

Considering he was a teenager for most of his collecting time, and has 'slowed down' since then, the relatively small size of his collection makes sense, since most teens don't have the kind of cash older collectors do. In fact, its sounding like he's losing interest except in bragging rights.

Pfffft. My nephew will have a bigger collection than that by the time he's 10.

Remember boys and girls, what you value your collection at may not be what someone is actually willing to pay.

$3000? That is alot of money, but in all honesty I have probably at least 2 times that invested in my SW collection. Of course I go for alot of the higher end stuff, autographs, and master replicas items.
