I feel you. Things need to have an ending at some point. X-Men probably suffered from going on too long and kept falling into a cycle of greatness followed by shit followed by apology and repeat. MCU has had an endgame with Thanos and it’s about to be done. I can totally understand wanting to stop right there.

What I hope that Avengers 4 really hammers home is that this is the final battle. All cards on the table to end the villain we’ve built up for so long and who won. The Battle of Wakanda was great, but not everybody was there, and I don’t feel like they threw everything they had at Thanos’ army (not saying they should’ve sent in the rhinos but hey). The final battles in the first Narnia, Harry Potter, and Avatar: The Last Airbender felt like the end, no holds barred. I know we’re pretty much confirmed to be getting it, but I really do hope that they emphasize that this is the big one, this is the final fight.

I’m still gonna stay with it after 4 though, I’ve committed too much of my fan energy to it by now.  

 

The MCU should go on, but that doesn’t mean the Avengers needs to continue on. I’d like to see new Marvel heroes and teams continue on the good fight, looking to the example of the Avengers.

 

The Champions. Sure, it's a relatively new team, but they'd make a good "next generation Avengers."

 

Bucky will be the new Cap, they have more or less been mirroring that arc from the comics, and they have him on contract for several more movies.

 

They have to kill him off, and others, so that they can do Marvel Zombies in the future.

 

I'd be interested to see how they address the current issue of superheroes being illegal. Will it be thrown out after A4 or will it persist into Phase 4? I think the situation is clearly untenable and I've considered it a pox on the genre since the Civil War movie was announced in 2014.

 

It's too bad they already made a fake Defenders for Netflix. They could have made a great movie series out of Doctor Strange, Hulk, Valkyrie, and soon, maybe Namor and Surfer.

I also would like to see the MCU continue. Maybe mostly just so that they don't recast and reboot, and make us have to watch a whole new batch of origin movies for the same characters.

 

I don't really see the need for an "new generation actually evil Avengers" concept if they're not going to face off with the original Avengers. But it could also be combined with the Thunderbolts, which can work out.

The movie roster of Defenders would have been badass. More so if they could have gotten Namor and/or the Surfer.

Heck, Namor should have been one of the Invaders.
