Is anyone watching this tonight? I'm 36 minutes in, and so far, I am calling it that this show will be cancelled before it reaches 4 episodes! SMH. Fumble on all sides so far.
WHAT!? LMAO. Its like they are trying to squeeze as much as they can between commercials. The show has been on less than an hour, and the amount of things that have transpired is laughable. I take back what I said. 3 episodes and as Max said "Poof"
I thought it wasn't too bad and I'll give it a few more episodes to see if it finds its legs. However, what I've seen so far is very unoriginal; like they 'borrowed' a bunch of pre-existing superhero concepts that were well-known or popular, threw them all in a blender and made a show with the results. It's still early, though, so hopefully the series will start to develop, go in it's own direction and come up with something original. I am OK with a lot happening in each episode, especially in the 'origin' episodes, which can get dragged out, but there were instances where the plot just jumped from one place to another without much explanation. And I'm going to guess that Orwell is Spoiler Chess' daughter . It would explain her unlimited resources, reluctance to reveal her identity and Spoiler the picture Chess had on his computer of himself with a little girl . It's also the kind of unoriginal 'plot twist' that I'd expect on a series this derivative.
This show only made want a Batman series that much more. On its own, The Cape was decent enough, but nothing spectacular. I don't see it lasting very long.
Ive been debating on whether or not watch this. I'm usually a sucker for super hero shows, regardless of whether or not it's good. However from what I've seen so far, meh.
I thought it was ok. Sort of a mash up of Batman Begins, Robocop, and Heroes. I know I'll keep watching in an effort to support super hero shows on TV.
Same reason I'll be watching. I want them to know we want hero shows, but this one wasn't THAT great.
Felt a LOT like it was trying to copy Batman Begins. Some shots were even shamelessy copied. Or homaged, perhaps? Despite that I thought it was good. I'll wait to see how it goes before dismissing it/loving it, but so far it has plenty of potential. It felt very much like an adapted comic book to me. A lot of the camera angles and dialogue felt comic-booky.
I've got it on the DVR,but I figure I'll wait until I see what the all important ratings are for this show. You should be able to tell if it's a goner within the first couple of weeks.
so it's NOT about Astronauts! I wondered why my TiVo grabbed it for me! so far, very good. almost finished watching "Pilot" and 1 episode to go. But I also liked Bionic Woman reboot, and it got canceled. Let's see how far they'll take this before they cancel it like they do anything that's not stupid-silly-mass-appealing.
I really wanted to like this show but after watching the first two hours, I hope that it dies quickly. The writing sucks. The creative force behind this show steals everything from other media and does it poorly. This show misses the mark in almost every category. The only silver lining that I can see from it, is that when it gets cancelled Summer Glau will be available to do more Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles. That was a good quality show that was badly hurt by the writer's strike and by the network messing with the airing of the episodes. That show deserves to be back on the air or at least a made for TV wrap up movie. The Cape needs to be thrown in the garbage and redone by people with creative talent.
The ratings are in for the first night. The first hour got an 8.5,and the second hour got an 8.3.Not too bad,but next week will tell the tale.Let's see how big of a drop there is.
It was a terrible show. I have it scheduled to record on my DVR, but I'm going to cancel it (probably only slightly before the network does). Yes it was that bad.
