How well do you think the Transformers brand will be in 10 years? Will it be the same, stronger or weaker than it currently is? In terms of popularity, quality and quantity.

I would hope at some point, Hasbro can move forward. Not saying replacing the Autobots and Decepticons, they are not the problem. But we got to move forward and bring in new characters. I would love to see a series about the Autobot and Decepticon Civil War from the point of view of soldiers that never seen either Prime or Megatron before. Have some that even question if either of them are real.

Create new and fun characters that the people in the series has free range for character development. To be able to once again be bold and not have any set barriers for how a character should act.

The series badly needs that again.

Pretty much now its, the never do no wrong semi, the power hungry silver bucket head, the back stabbing jet, the cranky medic, and the yellow R2D2ish bot that lingers around.

I want to have a series that I won't see something coming, I want to be caught off guard.

I could not agree more with you. I love the soldier idea by the way. Really interesting and unique concept.

In ten years, popularity for Transformers will possibly have reclined big time. By then, there is a chance that people will have gotten sick of the Bay films. No movie franchise lasts. And with TFs costing so much outside America, parents might be forced to start buying cheaper toys.

It all depends on if another property comes along to dethrone it. Transformers, and all kids properties for that matter, wax and wane with the interest of kids. Once a new shiny thing comes out, the old shiny thing tends to lose its luster and must reinvent itself to an extent or face a drop in sales to the point of discontinuation. TFs will be in that spot sooner or later. Probably sooner.

I have no doubt that somewhere in the next decade we will see TransTech (or something very like it) will have a run as the main TF line, most likely in a TV show format.

Something in the future. Something with new characters. TransTech can do that easily. Repeating G1 over and over has worked(ish) for the past 25 years, but it can't be allowed to continue.

Opsie,I think you erased something, but all of us Transformers fans are,one day, gonna have to come up to the conclusion that BAY and TFP are our only hope for the survival of the franchise.:(

I'll be here that I know of.

That and we may start looking back fondly of this period kind of like how we're starting to look fondling of the Unicron Trilogy.

I'll be around. I still have years of catching up to do from the time I spent away from the brand.

For the heck of it,I'll just stay here 5 years more and get the hell out before "TransTech" takes over. No, but seriously dude, your thinking to much like Back to the Future part II.Micheal J. fox doesn't look like a weird, healthy, yellow haired, pig faced man.He has Parkinson's diseases and has brown hair, and I don't see flying cars in the sky if I look up at my window.Plus I think Hasbro and Takara Tomy will probably sue TransTech.

I have absolutely idea what you mean by all that.

You're accusing me of backwards thinking? When that's all Hasbro has ever done since G1?

    New TF Line:
Hasbro Employee One: We need names for the two leaders.
Hasbro Employee Two: How about - Optimus and Megatron?
    Hasbro Employee One: Perfect!

    Another new TF Line:
Hasbro Employee One: We need names for the two leaders.
Hasbro Employee Two: How about - Optimus and Megatron?
    Hasbro Employee One: Perfect!

    Yet another new TF Line:
Hasbro Employee One: We need names for the two leaders.
Hasbro Employee Two: How about - Optimus and Megatron?
    Hasbro Employee One: Perfect!

    The latest new TF Line:
Hasbro Employee One: We need names for the two leaders.
Hasbro Employee Two: How about - Optimus and Megatron?
    Hasbro Employee One: Perfect!

I'm talking about TransTech: a post-technological reformation on Cybertron, where we get kick-ass TF forms like THIS and THIS and THIS.

A Cybertron in the distant future, and one where the events of Beast Machines never took place. I'm not talking about a return to Cabbage-tron.

Well, in ten years we went from Robots in Disguise, through the Unicron Trilogy, into the movies, over Animated and powerslide into Prime.

I have no fucking idea what TFs will be like in ten years.

In 10 years, Transformers will be ... something

10 years ago: Robots in Disguise segues into Armada (then A-E-C, 3 Movies, Animated, all the "classics" lines, and a bunch of other stuff)
10 years before that: Not doing anything in the US, but running in European nations and elsewhere with Generation 2 in the wings (then Beast Wars and Beast Machnes)
10 years before that: nonexistent as a brand. (then the near-entirety of G1)

Funny how much stuff is skipped over if one only looks as the line at discrete points 10 years apart. Probably means 10 years from now there will be something moderately interesting if uninspired that came after some massively popular and polarizing series or line from around 2018. :)
