So, I saw this movie today. First off, if someone ever does a "Fallout" movie, they need to hire the production and wardrobe designers from this movie. Felt like I was watching a live-action "Fallout 3."

The movie was OK. Not a whole lot of explanation as to why the world was the way it was. But the big reveal at the end,
where it's revealed that Eli is blind
, was kind of a let down. He did way too much in the movie that would have been nearly impossible for someone who wasn't.

And yes, I get the fact that
    God is watching over him
. But to me, the movie would have had the same impact if the reveal wasn't there.

I liked it. It was simplistic, but I enjoyed it. As to the twist,
He's not necessarilly completely blind, there are degrees to it, such as the difference between being legally blind and not seeing anything. Besides, there's always a degree of suspension of disbelief when watching a movie, I felt it didn't push it too far, oddly enough.

Kunis actually didn't suck. Totally dug the costume design though.

What was so special about "the book"? How could/did it save humanity in the film?

I used spoiler tags, what more did you want? Not to mention that I stated my general opinion before I said any specifics?

they never actually said it would save humanity.
Eli heard God tell him to take it west, he'd know where it was supposed to go when he got there, which ended up being simply for preservation alongside other important texts. Gary Oldman wanted to use it to control people.

I imagine they did more than preserve it. I'm going to guess that Kunis' character took a few copies back with her, wherever she was going, and there's no telling how many more they'd make and how many they'd have once they opened up to the outside world.

Good point. There was a sequence at the end that alluded to how that would have come about.

So you enter a thread based on the specific movie, and people are putting things in spoiler tags and your complaining about "spoiler alerts". Here is a hint.....do not enter the thread. That way nothing is spoiled.

He used spoiler tags, which hid the spoilers in black until you highlight them

You only have yourself to blame.

    Not really.
They say that a person who has been blind for a while or for life has the other senses heightened. He would know where to shoot for example by hearing where the other shots come from. He smelled the unbathed guys. Then as you said, He had God leading him so he just walked where the Spirit led.

It was a great movie. Really great. Surprised people are down on the twist, all the clues were there. Can't wait to watch it on DVD to catch more when it hits.

I liked it. I read an interview with the directors and they said that they tried to keep the religious talk to a minimum. They said that the viewer would come out of the movie with what they bring in.

I want to see it again when it comes out on DVD. The movie has so many levels that it warrants another viewing to put it all together.

My biggest gripe with the movie was the music. Outside of that I thought it was pretty good,
