Played the demo again, and found a load of stuff I missed first time round. I love it when that happens. I am SO getting this game when it comes out.

Got the cat up the stairs where the flaming couch comes down, but it disappeared as soon as I smacked it to the top of the stairs. :(  I really wanted to bring the kitty with me. Anyways did anybody else play both of the tapes yet?

I have a hard time believing any game out this year will even begin to match up with this one. The demo has stoked my fire.

I'm currently downloading it (I think it's left hanging at 47%...NOOOOOOO), but I have one question for those who played it: Is it a better game experience then The Darkness? Cause if it is, I'll stop doubting whether to wait for that or get Overlord.

I tried the Darkness today, and while it's extremely polished, it's not really up to the level of Bioshock. I'm not entirely sure it's even a fair comparison, they're pretty different approaches to FPS's.

I agree. I have only played the demo of Darkness, but Bioshock seems to have more "WOW!" type stuff going on -yet it is hard to describe exactly why that is. It's that unquantifiable "feeling" you get while playing a game.

Well I did the smart thing and waited to download it. Only took me 2 hours and just starting it up now.

    Darkness is "Whoah badass."

Bioshock is "I have no idea wha- oh my god nooooo!"

The Darkness had it's moments, but I was weary about throwing $60 at it. After playing all the way through it, I would say it's a $40 game, not a $60 game. Bioshock I have no hesitation towards buying it enough to have it preordered. With new games being $60, or collectors editions costing more, I tend to judge games by what I think they are actually worth rather then giving them a number score. I know game production is more costly now, but not all companys spend the same amount on each game so they shouldn't just be $60 across the board. It's hard to justify paying $60 for so many of the mediocre games out there when I paid $40 or $50 for brand new Final Fantasys and other legendary games in the past decade.

I agree with you on that one. Both games have a completely different vibe going through. The Darkness has this rich story going on and has shit that looks awesome.

Bioshock seems to just want to scare the crap out of you. Stuff looks pretty sweet(that opening is just visual incredible, the fire and water effects are jaw dropping) the game feels almost like your moving around in a dark room and trying to feel your way around hoping you enter a lit room soon so you can figure out what the hell is making noise.

Oh and I very much don't look forward to fighting the Big Daddys. They give me the heebie jeebies. As well as little tiny scary girl with giant freaking needle thing.
