Okies before the war both set of robots worked together and then a big war happened between both,

Question if you were a robot on cybertron which side would u choose and fight for?

Also who had the biggest army?

    Autobots or decepticons

In terms of people joining up while in a mist of a civil war

Depends on the continuity, as well as at what point in the war. Some continuities say the Autobots greatly outnumbered the Decepticons, but many were killed in the opening surprise attacks of the war, and were then overpowered by the military forms of the Decepticons. In other continuities, the Autobots hold Cybertron, and there are no Decepticons on it, all the fighting takes place off-world.

In general (especially G1), though, the Autobots are severely outnumbered on Cybertron, and resort to guerrilla warfare, or outright retreat, in order to survive. They later retake Cybertron (after the movie), however, indicating maybe they still had significant numbers, or possibly that there were heavy Decepticon casaulties during the Unicron attack.

To answer your question, there were probably more Autobots at the beginning of the war, if not roughly the same number as Decepticons, but the Decepticons were built for warfare, and were able to gain larger numbers on Cybertron.

Also, which side is chosen would depend on the continuity.

In some of the comics, the existing government was undeniably corrupt and decadent, with the revolutionaries under Megatron having at least something of a moral standing when it started.

In other continuities like the live-action films and G1 cartoon, they are just power-hungry conquerors.

In the movie? In the 2007 movie Prime showed Sam and Mikela a holographic projection of Cybertron, and it seemed pretty obvious the Decepticons were winning, what with the "hunting Autobots apparently for sport" thing.

I'd probably go with the Autobots, since they seem a bit more forgiving of slightly flawed scientists and engineers.

Generally I think the Decepticons usually have the strength of sheer firepower and ruthlessness that eliminates a numbers advantage. Most continuities have them as the victorious side and the one with the greater numbers, at least for a while. Even when they aren't, their firepower tends to be much greater.

    I would join the Autbots.

Megatron can be a threat to his soldiers too....
