where did they say that?
Look into the various animal concept art of Primal, the Anaconda, and I think there was also a Zoo piece of concept art too, and other things.
can i see the Zoo piece too?
You'd have to google it, I don't save the pics but it was here in one of the batches of the TFW2005 found ones. One of the early ones iirc.
is it in this thread?
Not that I can find, but I don't visit other TF sites so it's in one of the concept art threads.
Holy wall of text. You speak as if you worked on this movie yourself. How did you come by all this information?
I honestly don't know why they didn't go the easy route and just replace all the teal from his AOE model with the red in the first place. Would've been the obvious thing to do.
Becasue cars. And money. And ideas. Agh this movie’s fucking trash.
I think I remember watching the making of The Last Knight on the DVD and the concept artist based Mohawk's appearance on I believe assassins.
That was a really interesting post. I'm curious...is that inside info, speculation, or just stuff you gathered from various articles? I've never heard most of that before.
I've been speculating on some of that for a while. I always assumed Izzy had a bigger role at some point, but I figure that idea probably never made it past just being an idea. Supposedly she actually had a smaller role in the TLK shooting script, until Bay added her to the end (meaning she probably would have just disappeared).
I've been saying for a while that TLK felt like a setup for more movies. That's one of the reasons I think it's sad that it flopped. It seemed like a springboard for other spinoffs. There were seeds of the Bumblebee movie, a Unicron movie, a WW2 movie, and probably more in there. I think it would have been awesome to see it all happen.
Yup. One of the scenes that were cut for budget/time was a Drift/Mohawk fight that was going to highlight this too. Honorable Samurai vs win at any cost cut-throat assassin.
I've often wondered that...
Inside info. I've got more stories too, but my own memories are kind of scattered still and jumbled in some areas. Some days I feel like Bumblebee. xD
But much of it is also confirmed by side details and interviews and other things. But there's also stuff I can't explain either, because it's future stuff too. So certain details are kind of, "Uh, let's talk about that one later."
Were you a Transformers fan before the live action movies?
What criticisms did Bay actually hear?
Been a fan since G1. I'm an 80s kid that grew up on it and all the iterations. And as for Bay, a lot more than he really should have.
You know, this is really a great post. It has praises for the films and those who make them, but it also has constructive criticism and is not just an angry rant. Bravo!
I agree that Bay really listened to more criticism than needed.
Nice to know!
It might not be a bad idea to compile your knowledge into a single thread. You could create a Word document and just type stuff up as it comes to you. That will probably help you organize your thoughts. When you have enough info, you could post it (or post a link to the document). Personally, I'd love to hear more about the scrapped Chicago/Sqweeks/Izzy storyline. I'd also love to know more about the 'Operation Skyfire' pitch.
With the financial success of Infinity War and Venom, and a Joker movie on the way have you heard anything about any Decepticon-Centric Films?
(i.e Megatron, Shockwave, Starscream)
Well, that Drift concept art explains why the original TLK toy was so orange. Why am I not surprised. This shit has been going on since the very first film.
Sequel? I can't believe people still think Bayformers 6 is happening. TLK was a financial disaster, killing the movie franchise and also the toy sales (with the latter only being revived thanks to Studio Series). It's dead in the water people. Bumblebee may have at one point been envisioned as a prequel to the Bay movies, but it is absolutely a reboot now, Paramount's doublespeak notwithstanding. That's why they're going full G1: because they want to make people forget the last film ever happened. (And in some fans' cases, forget the last ten years of films happened.)
