This is pretty simple. Aside from Optimus, who do you think was (or could have been) the best Leader in the G1 cartoon continuity (including the Japanese exclusive shows)? (Note: I'm only including Supreme Commanders, so i Ginrai doesn't count)

 

Magnus I guess. Of course Prime is always gonna be the best

 

I voted for Starsaber just because I liked Victory the best out of the other series.

I can't believe people voted Star Saber.

I mean, you might as well had voted Dai Atlas, neither of them have any personality beyond looking cool.

 

Star Saber was an Autobot Supreme Commander for a season, Dai Atlas only had one appearance. While yes, Star Saber did not get any distinguishing characteristics to separate him from previous Commanders, that's how Japanese normally portray their leaders - wise, brave, unrelenting in the face of impossible odds, and compassionate about subordinates and beings under their protection. I think that's still a lot more characterization than what we got from Ultra Magnus.  

Oh and yeah, you could say I am partially biased  

 

I thought Fortress Maximus was a very competent leader.

 

Rodimus Prime

 

Rodimus Prime. He had the impossible feat of trying to fill in the shoes of Optimus Prime and did a fairly good job in doing so. I compare him to an average quarterback on a Superbowl winning team: he managed the game and didn't throw any interceptions.

Pre-Season 3 Grimlock

 

nah! star saber was cool! it seemed like he had a pursuit for clean energy. and if i recall he was quite compationate, even towards his enemies. he did allow the defeated dino force to go even though they asked to be properly defeated, but instead complimented goryu on his leadership skills. he also, had a squad of newbies with him as well and you could see how guiding them, so that they didnt let fallbacks discourage them, and to help them push through. he also had a pet--- adopted a child he found in space. and i personally found his catch phrase, "let's say GO!" to be pretty cool as well. "head on!" was too 80's but "let's say go!" and "roll out!" are timeless.

rodimus ... too much went wrong on his watch ... maybe could have happened to anyone ... maybe not ...

 

I agree with this. Rodimus had a crazy task of filling the titanic Optimus' shoes. He did a good job and kept the Autobots afloat.

 

Split between Ultra Magnus and Rodimus...

Ended up going with Rodimus~
