    Battle Beasts

So wait a second, are Battle Beasts just going to be Minimates, or a unique line?

It's Beast Saga, not Battle Beast/Beastformers.

Gaokaiser is referring to the image at the start of the thread. Beast Saga is a new Japanese property with ties to the Beastformers universe and story.

wow so diamond select is finally getting off their asses with these? they've had the license for a few years now and done nothing with it.

I loved battle beasts as a kid so I'd be more then happy for a revival of sorts.

    this part is interesting:

"The first wave of two-packs will focus heavily on characters who appear in the comic, and will have a gameplay element, as well. "

wonder if they will have anything like rub-symbols. Im pretty sure the giveaways will be one per person, but Ill get as many as i can.

At the battle beast panel they made it pretty clear that this will have no relation to the originals, only in name, "they are beasts who battle" and that's about it, so no rub signs, no elemental tribes, none of the same characters, since I believe only takara owns those rights, diamond just has the name.

They showed a slide show but we couldn't take photos. They showed the main characters from the comic, like a large walrus, and then a few that will come out later like a big four armed insect guy, though he looked very much like a minimate, and then other better ones with lots of sculpted parts like a snake and a four legged spider like creature, and they all had lots of weapons that could connect like spears and things, didn't see any guns, much more tribal, less techy.
