I was flipping through a GameInformer recently, and I noticed something interesting. Appearently there's going to be a new comic from Marvel, entitled 'The Avenging Spider-man'. Info from the book: 'If your a Darksiders' art direction, you may checkout Marvel Comics' hottest new series, The Avenging Spider-man, which features the talents of Virgil Game's Joe Madureira. This book focouses on Spider-Man being a member of the Avengers and dealing with large superhero conflicts. The debut issue was the first comic book to come packaged with a free difital download of the same issue, much like movies' DVD/Blu-ray/digital download packages.' There is also an image, featuring Spider-man, a red Hulk(?), Wolverine, and Spider-Woman. (Yay, she's in something again!) So has anyone heard about this before? It say's it's out this December. I'll have to look around for it.
It came with polybagged with a free digital download of the same issue. Much the same as DC did with Justice League #1, except they charged for it.
It was released at Comic stores last month. I believe it had a free code you could use to download a digital copy ... I think that's what you're asking.
Yes. I believe my shop still has a few issues of the first printing although I can't speak for other LCS. I wasn't that impressed with it, but I'm going to give it a few issues for sure.
Issue 1 features the Red Hulk, but he's a guest star for the arc. The other Avengers also show up a few pages. Spider-Man is the main character though. From what I hear, they'll try and do the Marvel Team-Up thing again except the guest stars won't be just one issue.
And by the by, it was actually pretty good. It starts after Siege and Spidey needs a lift back to NYC. My favorite part was Thor, "Uh, not it."
I hated the preview art as it wasn't inked and it really irked me. However I got it thrown in my pile by my LCS so I read it and ending up loving it.
I might have to give this title a shot later on if I'm still following ASM. I'd love to see a title that takes place in a universe where Peter and MJ are still married...
Yeah, it's basically a reboot of Marvel Team-Up...not a bad thing in my book since I was always a big fan! I also like Joe Mad's art a lot We still have a few in stock as well.
Guest star, huh? Oh, jeez. Now I'm concerned as to if Spider-Woman will be a main character or guest star.... Hm. Do I have an unhealthy obsession for things she's in?
