Disturbia aside, most of the roles he played and the films he acted in were pretty lackluster - at least they were to me. But oh well.

 

Okay, lets assume its true for the sake of a hypothetical.

TF4 Op Scene.

AFRICA, Night. A C-17 jet is flying at HALO height. Rumours abound of Decepticons operating through warlords to consolidate some small power base in the war torn African nations.

C-17 INT: Colonel Lennox in Jump Master safety gear is directing his four newest recruits.

Lt. Alan Stone, 22nd SAS-UK (Statham), Lt. Mark Jones 3rd RAR-Aus (Chris Hemsworth) and AUTOBOTS, Dust Off (Motorbike) and Hound (ASLAV).

Their mission is to run recon, find any evidence of Decepticon involvement in the conflicts. Eliminate if feasible, call for back up otherwise.

Sound okay?

 

avengers is better, cause human(oid) characters are the maincast, not cgi robots.

people say "man it would be cool to be stony stark/thor/banner blabla"

but noone would say "man i wish i were optimus prime"

 

Well, because nobody wants to be a bipolar, head ripping, face ripping, spine ripping, eye ripping, murdering robot.  

 

Erm.

Humans are the main cast in Transformers as well. Sam Witwicky? William Lennox? Those are the "stars". The robots just count as "CG creatures".

 

I know it's going to sound a bit weird but it might be fun if Statham played the role like his character from the Transporter films. Just something kind of wacky fun about a guy in a suit beating the hell out of people and over the top driving just seems tailor made for Transformers.

 

Y'know, while The Avengers is certainly a better movie than DOTM, at least DOTM didn't rely on a majority of molds from previous Avenger toylines to form the bulk of what was seen in stores.

Granted, DOTM's toyline has more than its fair share of repaints and other problems like Mechtech being crammed onto everything, but at least there were some stars among the new molds like Shockwave and the majority of the HA basics.

That WOULD be pretty entertaining.

 

Actually, Frank Martin and Sideswipe would make a hell of a double act  

 

I feel pretty much the same. I wouldn't call him one of my favorites, that's for sure, but I do think he's a genuinely solid actor and that he'll have his shot at more movies (and not TF movies).

 

And it would be an excuse for them to have to give us more of Sideswipe in the films.

 

I mean shit if they'd really thought about it, we could have had Arcee and Epps basically being a new and improved buddy team ala Drake and Vasquez........
