I've had this on my mind for a couple hours and I'm just ready to see it again tomorrow... What would you guys wanna see in The Avengers II? I know that we'll be seeing Thanos as we saw said bad guy at the end credits, but what kind of plot would you wanna see? Him have 50% of the galaxy's population vanish at the snap of his fingers? Him fight with both The Avengers and Adam Warlock? What?
That one word was already in the thread-starter's first post. He's asking what KIND of Thanos story do you want to see. When I think of Thanos, I always think of the Adam Warlock Saga, but the Avengers only came in for the tail end of that and isn't really an Avengers story. I do know I don't really want to see a movie version of Infinity Gauntlet... although I don't think it's unlikely, if they start building towards it in Iron Man 3 and the other solo character sequels. After all, Thanos was originally an Iron Man villain, as little as that seems to fit. I kind of wish they would do some specifically Cosmic Marvel movies rather than use Thanos in Avengers right away. I kind of wish the second Avengers was going to be about an Earth-based threat this time.
The gauntlet itself already appeared in Odin's trophy room in "Thor", so I wouldn't rule it out either.
Well the sequel should definitely be more personal and not a retread of the first, so it should be Thanos taking on the team, but without it having anything to do with Earth's survival.
I would almost bet that they will tackle the gauntlet subject in Thor 2, which will lead into plot of Avengers 2. Now that the movies have all come together, they know they can capitalize crossing over in multiple movies.
I think Marvel is going to make Thanos the centerpiece of Avengers 2, but not before giving him some cameo appearances in Thor 2 (with Infinity Gauntlet being stolen from the trophy room) and the rumored Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I am hoping that Dr. Pym and the Wasp will make their debut in TA2 as well. Can you imagine how cool it'd be to see Giant Man for the first time on the big screen?
I expect it to be the biggest earning film of all time, if the Avengers has made over $1.4 billion to date then imagine what a sequel could do with all the hype from the first film behind it.
But if reviews are bad, I doubt it would beat Avatar. Maybe Titanic. I'm thinking we need to focus on the plot for Avengers 2 outside of Iron Man 3, as that has a lot of bearing on the Iron Man character already. Cap working with SHIELD allows viewers to see what is being monitored and what is coming, while Thor 2 can deal directly with Thanos and his powers. I'd like to see Avengers 2 keep the great dialogue but make it darker in tone, along the lines of Empire Strikes Back. A member of the team should probably die, but as a way to hurt the team instead of Coulson, who brought the team together.
I hope we get the Masters of Evil at some point but we first need to get Baron Zemo and perhaps the Enchantress.
I think Agent Phil Caulson will come back there will be hints to it at the end credit scenes of Iron Man 3, Hulk, THor 2, and Captain America 2, and then some superhero will save the Avengers at the end of the big battle scene in Avengers 2 and they will all be like who the hell is that and then the mask lifts to reveal Agent Phil Caulson and black screen credits roll leaving room for speculation on Avengers 3

Well we know they are planning a Gardians of the Galaxy movie(seriously they just bought copyrights/trademarks so they could put it on shampoos, bubble bath, and tee-shirts) Rocket Raccoon in live action!!!!!!! http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/06/28/guardians-of-the-galaxy-marvels-new-live-action-movie/ So my guess is several cosmic events will play out in that movie, including Thantos. Kind of like how all of Loki's Backstory was handled in Thor. That way when he shows up in Avengers 2 or three they can focus on the action and not the backstory. Ant man is also due to start filming too, so that will probably allow he and the wasp to be added next movie as well. Radioactive man is rumored to cameo in this film. My guess is Thor 2 will focus on more Asgardian issues and villains Cap is rumored to feature Winter Solider and the Falcon. Iron Man 3 is rumored to be just a Tony story as if he doesn't renew his contract, may be Downy's last Ironman only film.
