As you know both films come out in the same month and both have the star power to take over the box office. But each film has a weakness that the other can take advantage of. Spider-Man coming off a misstep named Spider-Man 3 the public may be a little hesitant to see a different man underneath Spidey's mask. TDKR doesnt have as appealing a villain as TDK so people likely would be turned off knowing the Joker wont be in the new film. The advantages however are high as well Spider-Man has a villian that has never been seen on the Silverscreen.TASM is also appealing to another demographic ie the Twilight audience who likes hot young actors.TDKR is fresh with the TDK taste still in peoples mouths who will undoubtably come for another bite.TASM opens up during July 4th weekend so that could give Spidey a much needed boost. But tell me what you all think and who your rooting for next summer.

I'm looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises much more than the Spidey reboot.

I don't care, I mean really, who gives a shit. It's not like none of here are going to choose one over the other.

I have no faith or desire to see the new Spidey. So TDKR all the way.

They're both getting my money, so I don't care one way or the other.

They'll both probably do fine at the box office, unless one of them turns out to be absolutely atrocious and gets killed by word-of-mouth...but I don't think that's likely. Personally, I'm only seeing DKR, since I have no interest in Marvel's characters or films and all of the previous Spider-Man movies have been terrible.

This sentence is a contradiction. How can a misstep in SM3 mean people are more hesitant to see a new Spiderman? If it was a misstep then they most probably want to see a new take. But you're also wrong in the idea that SM3 was a misstep. It was highest grossing movie of that year, so the average movie goer must have seen something they liked for it to be such a success.

This makes no sense. Everyone loves how new actors. It's just the nature of Hollywood. "Twilight" audiences have nothing really to do with it, at all.

I'll be watching both along with Avengers at the theater, so it's a draw for me.

    The Dark Knight here!

I just keep getting the feeling with Spiderman that he wears the suit because he sparkles in the sunlight.

I'm looking more forward to TDKR. I like Spidey, but nothing beats a dude with a "Grrr I'm scary!" voice in a black armoured outfit with pointy ears and a cape trying to be taken seriously.

    1. Avengers
    2. DKR
    3. Amazing Spiderman

Nolan fucking rocked shit with the Dark Knight, but I'd say 65% credit goes to Bale, Eckhart, and (MAINLY) Ledger.

Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America have all been MORE than solid. I only say that because I'm sure people think differently than me. (I'd say Cap was better than Dark Knight, Thor and Iron Man were both almost as good, and Avengers will be better with all those actors and stories.)

Amazing Spiderman will probably be amazingly shitty, lol.
